im very close to the final product, one thing is though, if i release it now, all the people that are going to buy it straight away may have to wait a while (its late, plus college tommorow)

but i'll take a USB flash drive into college tommorow so i can send straight away in the event that someone purchases whilst im not home

You can sent me the money, I don't mind... but then you'll not be getting the content you want, still you get content for FPSC though.

just as i am updating the site, i get an email from Rick, this may have the opportunity to become an official model pack for FPSC.

taking this into account, i think you guys may have to wait a little while longer, apparently i need to discuss some things, this is something i am very interested in, so i hope you guys understand

Congratulations, Jon. However, will this mean that your models will only be able to be used in FPSC alone?

if anything, the same way it is now, ive sent some files for Rick to test, if they are happy with it, they may publish it over the weekend (i think)

we'll see, if not then i'll have it up later on my site

edit:

damnit, what is it with me and crossposting...

@ Keith

thanks, but it still requires some testing, and they may redo some sounds if the current ones arent sufficient

i should imagine they would be limited to FPSC, but thats what they were built for anyway

WHHATTT? You mean they may not let it be used for DBP? That ruins everything (almost)!

But when you think about it, how can FPSC media not be allowed in DBP? Cause FPSC's engine was made IN DBP, and if you edit the source code, you are, technectly, using DBP. Plus, if they were to say 'Use only with FPSC or FPSC Source Code', then I could take the source, remove everything exept the header, and code from there. It just doesn't make sense how they could limit that...

Ive finished the first part ("modeling the gun") and its 1 hour twenty minutes long, i do spend some annoying time rotating around however.

its currently 550mb, im testing how far i can get it down without losing too much quality

That is awesome that TGC are considering making yours an official model pack! I hope they will decide soon...

And the tutorial sounds great! Will it include a section on melee weapons? Just curious.

yes, but in the later stage, for instance:

modeling > uv mapping > texturing > animating

edit:

i forgot, the tgc team will give a full review on monday of the pack. Thats all the info i've received on its progress.

i just have to update a couple textures (true black problem, i was testing on a dark background so i hardly noticed, lol)

[on topic]

great job dude! keep the tutorial work up!

[/on topic]

[off topic]

this is off topic, but how much would you charge if you moddeled an enemy (i.e a monster/mutant/zombie),animate and make it FPSC ready?

i should be able to provide sketches of the enemy.

i know this is off topic... :/
