Its been quite a while since FPSF died and I think its ok for me to now post up the Three Professional HUD Packs I made.

They are probably out dated now but here they are anyway

Well if you look he's been around for quite awhile, used to have screens on his website (FPSF). So he knows, he just forgot.

Just re-itterating what I have been told, so if he has been here longer, than one would assume he would know,,yet did not do.

Everyone gets told, new or old to post screenshots before posting a download,,,it's in every thread that has to do with downloading something.

He just handed you 3 packs that he previously charged for. His contributions to this community have been far more than many here. I think we can cut him some slack.

hmmmmm,,,well,,I know plenty that have given LOTS to the community,,and I have seen them get told regardless,,post a screenshot or the post will be locked...

I mean,,if your imposing that rule on some,,then it should be for all..

How is someone supposed to know WHAT they are downloading,,,if it's WORTH downloading without a screenshot.

I'm done now...just figured the rule should apply to all regardless.

No, I have not forgotten

I will post screenshots as soon as possible, trying to produce 45 screenshots is kind of time consuming

You don't remember FPSFiles.Net, do you? That was a site that he paid for out of his pocket (and in the end he was helped a bit by the community. He took alot of his own time, without asking anything in return for it (the small number of people to actually take the time to register was a bit of a slap in the face). He has shown these off many times previously. I've tried to separate the useful users from the ones who don't contribute here, when passing out punishment. But if you want me to start imposing the "rules", without regard to who's doing the posting, that's fine. I don't think people are going to like that too much; and I imagine the Mod-bashing threads will start again in earnest.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
I have been judging things on a case-by-case basis, trying to take into account whther the user is contributing to the forums or is just trolling and irritating, whether the user has committed offenses before, the seriousness of the offense, how long the user has been a forum member, etc.
But if you just want us to punish people without regard for their contributions or the cirucumstances...like Keith said, the mod bashing will get worse shortly.
If you check around the forums you will find that Templar has contributed a LOT to these forums...maybe more than anyone else...
I know I have a load of media that I got from him and his site FPSFiles.
And it is entirely possible that he hasn't been on the forums for a while and just dropped by to release his packs that he previously charged for to the communtiy for free.
A lot of us owe Templar a debt of gratitude that we cannot repay.

Johnny,
As far as the HUD size goes do you not know how to use any paint program? It will take mere seconds to resize a hud.
Templar,
Thanks for posting screenshots and once again for the huds. They are uber cool.

I just simply asked that there be some screenshots posted for those of us who have not seen his work to be able to see what we were downloading prior to ensure we werent just downloading something we didnt want.

I personally dont think that was asking too much. And since he did post screenies, I am glad because I can see his work now. I for one am always impressed by those who give there hard work away to others for free, having recently done that myself, so it wasnt to get the mods slamming the hammer on everyone, just helping everyone here SEE what they are getting. I am sure that people have downloaded stuff on someone elses word that it was great, only to find it wasnt what they wanted. Screenies help everyone.

Stamina,
Though I have not commented, the thing that annoyed me on what you said is how you said it.

You sort of made out i was an idiot and your use of capitols i nthe setence didnt help the situation

Yes, Screenies help , I no that but content packs are hard to post up screenies for when it has been months since you released them.

Its this sort of stuff that got me to leave these forums, They have improved alot, cant lie about that, which giving credit to the mod team is well deserved.

Stamina, You seem like a nice guy, but do remember if you dont want to be flamed or start arguments its best you speak nicely when requesting something

Thanks for appreciating my HUDS though mate its greatly appreciated

and thanks to you all , im glad ive been some sort of asset while being part of this community

That was not "simply asking him to post screenshots"; it was a condescending comment, and not appreciated.

Thanks again for all your work for the community, Matt (I kind of miss doing the 'Model of the Month' for the site sometimes).

I miss that too.
I also miss the Hud of the Week.
FPSFiles was the biggest and best resource site on the web.
Back in the early part of this year it mide have had more media than the FPSC forums.
It was truly sad to see the site do down.
I am glad that one of the first things I did when I got invilved with FPSC was to download a bunch of stuff off of there.
Thanks again,Templar, and your site will be truly missed.
It was especially a great place for newcomers to get excellent media.

after still seeing myself as a newbie, after a few months now... I get the sense of brotherhood in these forums with some people. I am very envious of the fact that I were never part of the whole stuff starting up and the fpsfiles.net stuff etc.

but am now, proud to be here. and making games... eventhough it is only for my younger brother to play

WOW..... Thats amazing!!!
I will use one in every game i make! Thank you so much for releasing them for free.

This is probably noobish, but how do you get the huds to work in a game? I go to global script but i dont know how to put them in. Can you help me?

There should be a manual with the downloads to help you get them into your game. I'm not sure if Matt took that out or not. Check all 3 Packs. When I installed them (many moons ago), I could change them in the Build Game Menu.

yuh it includes the manual

its a .pdf so if you dont have adobe acrobat reader installed you wont be able to view it

it gives you instructions on how to insert the HUD into the game and how to change the number vlaues which are called numerics in FPSC

Stamina, I expected a little more professionalism out of you than what you've displayed here. Templar HAD been posting screenshots of his HUDs, and had you checked any of his previous threads, you'd have seen that. You may as well start asking AE to post screenshots of his crosshairs, he didn't do that, either.

The mods have enough on their plate without turning this into Auschuitz (SP? It's been a while since I've had to remember WWII references).

Formerly JMC...

TeMpLaR1,

An excellent contribution and generous gesture. Thank you very much.

The forum provides a means to hide our true identity. Too bad we always screw up and let it be seen.

Thanks a lot Templar1. I just downloaded them and really appreciate it. I hope to learn how to create them too. and if they are good I'll give them away. Just cant imagine how generous people can be.

Are they just HUD images and the health n ammo bars/counters are default I assume?

Thanks again
