i am thinking alot about college right now since i am going to graduate from highschool in a few years.(i am about to finish off my sophomore year)what would be best for me to learn for college programming purposes??

i beleive darkbasic wouldnt because it is not a big company out there right now....

-right now i am kind of looking into learning c++ but i dont even know where to start

You really want a course that's high on programming and low on maths - with college most computer courses (especially if they mention 'programming') should be acceptable - especially with C/C++ ones. Dont really bother with Pascal, unless is a secondary language.

doesnt really have to be low on math

math is my fav subject in school besides computer type classes

I am 16 and going to college.

I am going to study Math, physics and english so i can then do a higher level Programming Course at Uni.

The Outside is a evil place to be, too much light, too much noise and too many distractions....
I went outside once and my FPS rate dropped to 5.

You can get GCC - thats free. There area few other too - cant remember what they're called though.

Borland Builder 6.0 is free and can compile Windows C/C++ Exe's ... and Builder 5.5 is still up there because thats the last totally free version, because 6.0 if you release anything they charge you for it.
Aparently there's an IDE around the site somewhere, but i dunno where so don't ask

or you can try Dev-C++

Its got a great looking IDE and works straight off.

Has a VC++ -> C++ converter, not sure if it works though
