As promised in this post :
I have updated my weapons that I was giving away free.

The dual Glock and glock have totally new (much better) animations.
The UV mapping has also been redone on these two, to make it a bit smoother.

Also included are:
Syringe
Fists
Autopistol (suppressed)
Acannon ( a kind of blaster)
Katana
Bat.

Download here -----> once you have downloaded do 2 things.

1) Read the licence and instructions.
2) Give me some feedback (its the least you can do)

I thought I should mention, the arm texture (brown material bit on the texture map), it really lo res. I didn't want to include the nice texture I'm using in FOTF because I didn't want anyone using this to look just like mine. You can replace the brown (rubbish) texture with whatever you like.

They look AWESOME!!! I really like the fists!! I didn't like walkin around with nothing, not even hands lol the fists make the game way more realistic.. The syringe would be brilliant for a sci fi game or wen you are an evil doctor.. Finally the upgraded gun animations are fantastic, ecspecially when you first pull the guns out. I can't believe you are giving these away for free, you are basically my hero



soz for the double edit, but one thing the weapon ww2/autopistolsup display a big white block on the screen when you shoot the gun, please don't get offended just thought i should point it out

restart FPSC. it only reads the gamecore guns file on start up. you need to close FPSC and open it again.

Of course, if you didn't actually copy the files into the right folder, the they won't show up either.

Ohh yeah btw, when i use the guns instead of smoke comming out of the front, i get a non-textured box that gets in the way so i can't see for like 1 second. Kinda anoying if you under stand, i might post a screeny in a bit

Oh, that's because some of the guns use a custom muzzleflash/smoke basically you have to open the gunspec file for that gun and change the smok/muzzleflash value to a number
between 1-4 for muzzleflash
and
1 for smoke.

Sorry about this glitch. As much as I was prepared to give the guns away, the decals and smoke took quite a bit of effort and I wasn't prepared to include them.

The weapons are bloody amazing...not meaning to pick a bone here but they are free and you can retexture them if you don't like the way they look.
He's not going to give away the top-notch stuff that he is putting in his games...heck,I don't think he would sell his top-notch stuff until he releases his game(s).
I wouldn't.
The animations are excellent and it will be good practice to retexture stuff like this anyways.
And I actually like the fact that Butters didn't specify a muzzleflash or whatever here and there.
It makes me feel like I'm earning something and not just getting a free ride.
Most of the stuff that has been released for free is not the best that the modelers have done.
They keep that for themselves.
And I don't blame them one bit.
If you look past the textures...which aren't bad,he just made these as textures for the free stuff and figured we could retexture them...and check out the animations the guns just feel right.
So feel free to whip out your favorite paint program and retexture away.
Keep in mind when you read this I am not being deliberately confrontational (or,in other words,trying to pick a fight)...
this is just my opinion.

I have to admit, I did leave the forums for a while. I was busy with work, and I got fed up with that download and run attitude. It was actually my Girlfriend who suggested I give stuff away, but still leave a few things for the end you user to do themselves (like making your own blood for the VisualDamageSystem.) This way, people download the concept, and have to use their own imagination and intelligence, to make it work.

I think this really works, people get something free, but they still have to explore and learn the engine and file structure a bit. Thats why I never use an installer. Too many people think FPSC is just a front end GUI, but if you don't bust open that file structure and start playing, you'll never make anything good!

So thank you everyone for your nice comments, I feel I've made a return to form over the last few weeks, and I'm gonna continue to post useful stuff, but I think you should all know, that I want to help teach the community new stuff, not just give away self-installing freebies!

Butters, I have been playing around with these weapons for a while now, and they are all very nice. My favorite is the bat, because the animation you gave it is perfect. It is very satisfying to hit someone with it.

I installed it on fpsc and it doesent even show in the editor.
Not many up-dates that I have installed work. My might be too low. I can't find bat.dbo or bat.fpe. Please tell me what da answer is if any1 knows. Thanx...

FOr the love of jesus, mary and joseph please read the instructions. If you don't place the files into the correct folders, of course it won't show up in the editor.

There are no entities to find anyway!once you have copied all of the folders contained in the zip into the folder described (VERY CLEARLY) in the zip try right clicking your player start marker and looking in the "has weapon" field.

Seriously butters, will you marry me (ok that wasn't serious) But everything you have given out has been soooo cool. So far my favorite is the visual damage. I'm trying to make the texture but I'm not good at texturing. To be honest I'm glad you didn't give out the texture, this way it MAKES me learn how to texure.

Yo ive tryed to make a hud icon for the fists but it didnt turn up in game cause of it not being dds format ?!? i think could someone convert it

ok, after re-installing fpsc i got a chance to test these things out, they are outstanding!!! except for the fact that some of the guns' muzzleflashes are white boxes.

edit: nevermind, i figured it out.

please read the licence. It makes it pretty clear which ones can be used in commercial. It's the text file in the zip.

Eureka,
I almost didn't post but I am going to try to save you the wrath of Butter fingers.
There is a readme with the files.
Read it and follow the instructions EXACTLY.
And before you come back and post about the block you see when you fire certain weapons please read the rest of the posts in this thread.
I do know for a fact if you follow the instructions that these guns will be in the gamecore\guns\WWII folder.
You have to right click on the player start marker and assign yourself the weapon and ammo unless you create your own pickups.

The guns all have textures.
If you followed the instructions and you place a player start markewr and right click on it you can choose any of the weapons as a starting weapon.
This would not be on page two without someone mentioning there were no textures.
Download the file again (if necessary),unzip it,read the instructions and try it again.
It's possible you missed something.
And make sure you read the rest of the posts in this thread because you will need to know the information.

And e-mail Richard Davey and ask him to change your forum name.
It is inappropriate for the FPSC forums.
We have children reading this stuff.

SOME HINTS FOR MORONS
go to the gamecore folder and open ww2 where the new weapons are stored. open each of the weapons folders and open the gunspec.txt inside.

in the gunspec you will see a line reading

[b]smoke =

If this value is greater than 1 you must change the value to 1 to prevent getting white crap everywhere.

Do the same for the value after

muzzleflash =

This value must be 1,2,3,4 or 5
[/b]
please please please for the sake of my and freds sanity, read the instructions in the zip and the comments in this post fully before you start complaining.
