After seeing how DarkFact did bodies in his game, I decided I'd try it myself. It's quite easy.

Free Dead Body Example Packs:
Download Dead Body Example Pack 1 [Colonel X] (FPSC Required)
Download Dead Body Example Pack 2 [Aiko] (FPSC Required)

Both Example Packs are FPSC Ready, not Milkshape examples

Screenshots further down.

Tutorial:

First, use something like FragMotion to import any character from FPSC (I used the specialist from MP1) and export it to a milkshape file with the skeleton. Now, open it up. Select anim mode and make the first frame into the pose you want, and go to Animate->Set Keyframe. For Example:

Now, go to Animate->SMD Adjust Keys and make it look like this:

Now, go out of animation mode. The body should remain the same. Highlight and delete the entire skeleton.

EDIT: Exporting Setup:

And here's my outcome (You'll have to make it FPSC ready yourself):

EDIT 2: Maybe using my content installer I'll make a 'Dead Body Pack' using FPSC characters (probally just scifi to start)

Here's a free dead body pack, uses my FPSC content installer to ensure you own FPSC before installing(only contains mesh and FPE anyways).

Screenshot:

I'm attaching the download.

No problem! The good things about doing it this way rather than having some one 'spawn' dead is:
*Less Memory (No Animation is loaded for the entity)
*Static, which in turn is faster than dynamic (especially characters)
*You can 'pose it'.

I decided to beat up Aiko, she was being a bad girl hanging out with conker :

I'm attaching the download. Also requires FPSC and uses my content installer.

@WuTang - that's weird. Which version of FPSC are you using? I'm using the latest and it works fine.

@Zaibatsu - Yes, I can...posting them is another story. While without the textures they are somewhat useless, I'm still not allowed to redistribute the mesh unless I can garentee you have the other packs. Prehaps I can make my Content Installer check for model packs too...

@Candle - Received and replied.

@Airslide

Your installer is slick!

Best.

The forum provides a means to hide our true identity. Too bad we always screw up and let it be seen.

if you can think of a way to check for model packs existancem that would be great, becuase i need dead bodies from those packs, and do not own milkshape. yet.

@xplosys - Thanks! It's been what - three days of perfecting?

@Zaibatsu - Checking for them shouldn't be hard - I just have to make it use a file that tells the installer what model packs to look for (would be in the protected zip).

Speaking of the installer, it itself is almost done, though I have yet to begin much work on the editor. I'm also going to be messing with the file block extension to try to make winzip mad

Um - why wait till you buy milkshape? It's FPSC ready, not the milkshape files.

No problem. It will be awhile though, I'm being nagged by my younger brother at the moment and weekdays aren't exactly sympatetic to my computer needs On the weekend I should be able to finish up most of the MP4 characters for you.

The anim button is in the far right bottom corner, and the animate menu (for use with 'set keyframe' and 'SMD Adjust Keys') is in the top.

Just copy the X file into the directory of the orignal character and assign them the texture [in the fpe] of the character they represent, and make them static. Feel free to use the FPEs in the example packs to see what I mean.

A) Use pain to convert it to JPEG, you won't have that little splash at the bottom

B). The textured feild is set, correct? And the texture is in the right location? And he is dynamic? You may need to remove all but one material in milkshape, that might help.
