Hey.. A morrowind fan, I was one but I'm getting a 360 soon so I'm going to have to change over to Oblivion

Anyway the "halberd" model still looks good

your not the first to notice that morrowind stuff...

however,a pole-axe and a halbert arent that different.you handle them the same.they just look a little different.so who cares?

search halberd on google images. theres loads that look like mine you idiot.

1 all, 1 to go!!!

i have oblivion aswell, but it's no where near as good. Graphics are better but the rp exeperinece is pretty rubbish.

and you need morrowind and oblivion on the computer as you get endless gameplay from mods.

ok i applyed Oninmista's texture to the mesh. I had to scale it down to 512 X 512 but it looks basically the same. It will work as 1024 X 1024 in FPSC though. tell me what you guys think.

EDIT: i took the picture off for Oministas sake.

Wow, nice job, Tyrano. I have now finished the crossbow. Here is a screenie.

P.S. Tyrano, I am sending you the crossbow and bolt to you VIA e-mail. If you like it you may animate it, retexture it, or whatever. The bolt is a bit too large feel free to re-scale it or make a new one.

Cheers,
Trinity

@Trinity: yer thats ok, i'll edit the mesh. and is the crossbow UV mapped? or is that just a change of diffuse colour?

@Oninmista: i'll try a texture aswell and we'll choose the best one.

2 things:

@Trinity: poly count?

@Oninmista: i made my own texture, but personnally i prefer yours. everyone be honest and say which of the two is better. Ominmista has a better wood texture.

Oh, the triangles are:
8960
Verticies are:
4536

Also, sorry, my modelling program has just expired...I'm going to register it, but not until I get my new comp. sorry guys.

Quote: "is the crossbow UV mapped? or is that just a change of diffuse colour?"

@Tyrano: Im pretty sure its not UV mapped. I'm very bad with textures so please feel free to edit it. If by uv mapped you mean that it is all one texture then no. Also thanks for giving me the chance do work on this whether you use it or not.

really? i honestly thought yours was better because it actually looks like wood. but we'll just use the most popular one.

(i'm back at school now; so progress will be slower from now on).

obviously yours is going to be more popular it's better!, there is no point havin a tally of how many people like each texture, you will simply win.

Unless you want to show how you are soooooooooo much better than me at texturing, which we already found out is true, just to rub it in.

I wouldn't thought that you are that sorta person.... but who knows.

Please can you get rid of the picture of my applied texture, but if you want to just embarass me, keep it..

ok so i tried to re map and texture that stick. The main wood is just one colour at the moment, cos i was focusing on the leaves.

the leaves look flat when you walk around it, but when it will be a weapon it will be fine, as you'll never see round that far.

I not sure if you're trying to be offensive or not.
Ill download a poly reducer or whatever. (btw, there is a trial of Action 3d)

i wasn't trying to be offensive, just saying how we do it. It's much eaiser to make a low-poly model high-poly; then to make a high-poly model low-poly.

You need to learn how to make low poly models.
You can get a poly reducer but that only does so much.
He's not trying to be offensive. If you look at most of the models made for FPSC you will see they are low poly models.

Yeah, I know. I'm sorry to be so rude, I guess I mad about my trial running out, otherwise, I would have made it low-poly by now.

ok i'm ganna try and texture the hammer now; i'll upload the map so that if any of you three want a go, you can try a texture. Unless your all against it; i'll do this with all the maps, as we get a much better choice of textures.

My friend (EncryptoStudios) uses gamespace. So I am a little familiar with it. Hey, I fixed my modelling program. Yay. I will have the low poly model to you in about a day.

EDITSorry. my friend has truespace, not gamespace.

1) gamespace uses the same engine as truespace, and works the same way.

2) Oninmista i removed that picture for you

3) i am quite busy at the moment with other things; I will not abandon this project, but it may not come out for a while as i am working on my puzzle games entitiys. (i wont tell you anything about it so don't ask)

thanks for all the support you three have given, it won't go to waste

Hey, I used a poly reducer on it, but the textures wouldn't work right for some reason, so I decided not to post it. sorry for any and all inconvenience.
P.S. I understand if you don't want to use the model, this must cause alot of problems for you.
