I will switch to Vista in the immediate future. I would like to ask an important question: will FPS Creator V1 and model packs run on Vista?
Or I will need to buy FPS Creator X10?

Only bad thing is the ammount of people who will be able to play the games will only be the select few willing to dish out $900.

Oh but what a select few it will be.... Atleast for the first year.... But wouldnt it be nice to have several titles under your belt by the time the rest of the world caught up....

Okay this vista question should of been a no brainer.... Think about it with XP you can you run old programs only usuable on windows 95 or 98 or my favorite ME (ie 98 on crack)So being able to run older programs will be featured in the new Vista

Personaly my fasination is going to be how far we can stretch the capabilites of directx 10....And think about what 11 will bring when it comes to light........ Time for me to dream for a quad processor board with dual cpu bay's and a full tera of ram thats right a full tera... and and and....ohman why did I have to wake up

Have you downloaded your CLiPs today.

Yeah, get Vista, DX 10, FPSC X, and DarkShaders, and you'll be set to make games that will make people using almost any other engine druel over! All hail FPSC (and DS)!!

I know that FPSC X10 will only run on vista but will the games not be able to be played on xp. Im sure that the last direct x update was to allow direct x 9 to be compatible with direct x 10 games just in lower quality. Thats how flight simulator x can run on xp.

If not then i will prob just develop my games on both FPSC and x10 at the same time. Have a separate xp and vista versions.

As I'm to understand it, DirectX10 would only run on Vista. So any games made with any X10 programs, DBP or FPSC, would logically only be able to run on Vista.

If I were smart and rich enough to own it, I'd grab a new comp built with FCX in mind, then build versions of your games with both FPSC and FCX. Serve more people that way, so XP people don't get left out.

Sure would be nice, but do you think that will be the case? Just think about how many people have several titles under there belt with the current version

lol, Ben before I read all the post I was thinking the same thing. S4 and I have worked as a team since Sept17th and were barely outta section 1. If your making several titles in a year....They're some junk games...

I've been working on my game for over a year.
Like Loc said...if you are pumping out games left and right they are going to suck.

As you say.... you're too late, you have to buy when it's released.

The look for them, don't ask us, you're not supposed to download the beta anymore, so you know what you're asking for.

About several titles (didn't see that till after I posted)....seriously, IF you're lucky, you'll get two good titles out a year. And if you're smart, you'll take your time and make a great game rather than five bad games in a year...I've had FPSC since July and I'm STILL working on finalizing details for the game.

About Mr. Love's search for a beta....I think that any sites still offering that download would be sites that I wouldn't trust with the president's information, and that's pretty bad given my opinion of him! My opinion--if you're in the US, start hoping your tax check will cover a new computer with the specs to run DX10. Cause I think that's about the only way you're gonna get a Vista capable of running FCX short of upgrades that are so ridiculous you'd be better off buying a whole new comp.
