looks hot hot hot paul. I drooled all on my clean shirt.

Any chance I can see a screenie, minus the fog.. it kinda messes up all the texture quality, I know it won't have the atmosphere, but I just kinda wanna see what-a-gwan

excellent level design and textures Paul.
One of the few games which I hope turn out as good as they look.

Thankyou DieRider. I'm about to go take some pics of the new enemy I made. I modelled and textured it, but Disturbing13 rigged it to the FPSC skeleton for me. Thanks D13

Acually no That is its mouth. It has no eyes, just that big gaping mouth, and 3 straps holding its mouth open. I have attached an image showing the transformation from the design sketch to the finished model. Note that I decided to cut the legs shorter, make the head a bit bigger, and just make the arms complete stumps.
Enjoy,
Paul

Well now that I have the enemy done, the demo will be out quicker I've got exams for the next few weeks, so the only work I get done is on the weekends.
New screenys when I get the shed sorted

great model but one suggestion with the texture- where the mouth meets the straps, perhps some rusty metal fasteners/hooks could show that its holding the mouth open. I would have mentioned this while rigging it but it just came to me.

It's sort of a wierd twisted version of FPSC's Grenade throw, sort of flailing and stuff...quite demented.

Paul. This is shaping up to be a very sexy project. I really like the creature! Anyway, quick rant, don't know if you've seen the dreamstealer thread in models and media, but I'm well into the dark and twisted character thing, and I'd be VERRrrrrry interesting in having a look at the lil guy you got there. I'd be quite happy to have a go at doing some custom anims for him if you want! I can't imagine the default anims look that great...after all it must be sore walkin on stumps.

Anyway, tell me whatcha think.

Just a quick note for everyone, I NEARLY lost all of my game design media, which is a couple of years of work, because my harddrive messed up and I didn't back anything up. It was doing the:

I tried every one of these options, but they just caused the comp to reboot and return to the error message. I was devistated. I left the computer running, and fell asleep, when I awoke to the view of my desktop background, I was VERY happy!

All my media is now backed up on DVDs, but I'm going to wipe my HDD today, to make sure it wasn't a virus or anything on the system, as I don't want to work on Lifeless until the comp is reliable again.

Sorry for the long post, I was just telling you all that Lifeless is still in production, but it might take me a couple of days to get my comp ready for some more game design.

Peace all, and back up your media!

Hmm, to the contrary, a lot of the areas in the map are well lit, and I have a flashlight like overlay on the screen aswell. None of the map is pitch black, because of the fog and the ambient light level.

@Smith, sorry to hear that, I guess I was just very lucky. Glad you like freak.

@Inspire, I thought Umbra was complete shadow, and Penumbra was partial shadow?

@Nakidno,I have played Penumbra (freaky game!), but the monster I remember it from a screenshot, but not the game. In my knowledge, the creator of that monster left the team before it was finished, so they didn't use it. It looked very evil!

Peace out people, not quite fixed this comp yet.

Lol! The demo wont be out for a few weeks yet, and I haven't thought about the testers yet, other than Disturbing13.

Just about got the comp sorted, but it's mid week, so no progress until the weekend I think.

I've been watching this one for a long time. The screenies kind of give me the hebbie jebbies like Ravenholm in Half Life 2 or getting my juggler torn out by a zombie in Resident Evil 4. Anyways I have some idea for characters and I can't model worth a crap so maybe if you want some of my sketches I could email you. My email is rdali3n@hotmail.com. contact me if you want any ideas on characters or whatever.

Thanks I've pretty much got characters sorted, but thanks for the offer. Currently I'm just working out the fine details of the storyline, and working on some scare factors, but I'm glad you like it so far.

Liking the new banner as well.
I'm guessing "freak" is to you as "headcrab" is to Half Life.
I'd also like to test if that would be okay with you. But anyways can't wait to see more and best wishes.

Freak has a couple of very close ties to the storyline, that's all I'm prepared to say

Glad you like the banner, I'm still not past my exams yet, so demo wont be out for a while, but when it gets near, I'll keep you guys in mind as testers

To RinsE:
Not being mean, but if you think bumping my dying thread to say that is going to make you one of the testers, then think again. I have a couple of testers lined up, ones that I trust, and know will give good feedback.

To the world:
Lifeless is still in production, but has taken quite a few different turns, and I am still working with the storyline. Half of the screenshots on the first page are no longer in game, and the style is still due to change dramatically.

To the moderators
Can you please be so kind as to lock this thread? The game is still in production, but I would prefer to make a new WIP thread when I get further into development.

Paul
