I think this may be a "56k Warning Thread" now, if so, can a mod please edit the title as such...

New Demo:http://rapidshare.com/files/87333186/Hazardous_Waste_Demo.exe.html

I've tried my hand at a Sci-Fi for the New Year Level Competition, It's called Hazardous Waste and is a basic 1-level game where you are a scietist working at the Izolis Fusion testing facility...

An experiment goes critically wrong, sending power surges from the distraught reactor into the systems and crippling the facility, you have but one objective, get out of there before the core goes into meltdown.

ermmm....sorry thats the wrong screenie...lol..

-=EDIT=-

The right screenie is in first post now.....

It is the first room you are in and is a small lab-room that the CPU systems got fried and blew up due to a poer surge from the afore-mentioned crippled reactor...

No problem. The first screenshot made me stop and think about how you did it, because I didn't think that was possible. (Yeah, so I'm a slow learner, so sue me... ) I figured it out though. Nice job.

Looks good but the HUD spoils these pics. It's far too big and bright for a dark game. I suggest you decrease the size of it and make it a darker shade of grey, but with the writing a contrasting bright colour.

I agree with Butt monkey. The hud does kinda spoil the pics. But the game looks good otherwise.

I was planning to change it, it's one of the final things I'm gonna do,(the actual level building being first,lol)....

That looks good, but 16 fps? That's a little low, don't you think? Try optimizing the level. Oh, wait. It looks like you have FRAPS running. Try closing that, and you will receive better framerates.

I used Fraps for the screenie, lol......

I've isolated the fps murderer, it's a (very) large room containing the Nuclear core i was going to have the Player walk through........

Trying to find a way of reducing the FPS suck.....

Nice effects coffee.

What settings are you using like full light mapping ect.

Why don't you edit the setup.ini in the main directory to get better shadows it would really suite the scene...

Nice! Still looking forward to playing this! You better not turn on full lightmapping, especially since there are gantries in that room Unless, you're computer is good enough to handle it...

Excellent looking level there, CG! (Heh, kinda ironic your alias initials are CG and you're showing off some CG )

Seeing that electric arc and having just finished up working on Lemur's Water (fully functional), I was just thinking, HEY!! With a little timed, slowly rising water, this could be like a "Get out of the water before it reaches the power and you DIE" kinda puzzle.

I am definitally looking forward to seeing more of this, I love the direction you've taken it.

Great, I'm definitely considering getting Lemur anyway....

But will it be out in time? Before 29th February I mean?

EDIT: Oops. Wasn't paying attention.

Anyway, hopefully Lemur is out by then, but I don't want it to be rushed so that some features don't work as well as others.

Can't say for sure when Lemur V2 is gonna be released. Honestly, I wish I could, cuz then I'd be looking forward to it as well, lol.

All I can say is, we're trying to keep everything as bug free as we can, and at the same time, stable and useful.

Keep working on this level, I want to see more of it!

Take your time with Lemur, Plystire. We don't need it today, so work out what you need.

Yeh...

It's only a one level game, so i don't really need lemur for this right now.....

but i will when i make a real game...

Also....I'm pretty stuck over frame rate problems.....

My CPU has 512mb RAM, with 1.5GB paging.......So that might be part of the problem...
