new download at the bottom folks

God Of Thunder
by Pricey

Controls:

Arrow Keys - Control
Control - Fire Hammer
Space - Change Item

Screens:

I am aware of serveral bugs in this such as the flickering in screen transitions, but I needed to get a demo out after the PR disaster of Quest, so here it is. Some graphics are just place holders and the final will include much more effects and shaders and polish in general.

Download Below.

Amazing game! I'm nowhere near that skilled in 3D...yet. I like the way the hammer acts like a boomerang, but it got stuck in the bush and kept going round and round...

I like the jewel collecting, but I kind of got stuck at the green monster, when I tried to go back the spikes were up again. How do you get past it? Great texture animation, I can see it blink it's 1 eye! (I also got stuck in the cave, after I unlocked the cave door, went in the cave and came back out the door was there again and I was stuck)

By the way, the apostaphe ' is missing from the grahpics. I found the world transitions a little annoying, though. I suggest trying fade to black instead.

My entry's nowhere near as good as yours, maybe I'll make a 3D Mario Bros. for the next big compo.

thankyou for that =D

i actually have changed the transitions to fading now =)

you should be able to shoot your hammer straight through those spikes... but i'll check it

i'm aware of the problems with doors re-appearing too
i'll fix it now, i'm also aware of the crappy way in which it disappears, but i'm working on some sexayyy effects for that now.

thanks for playing and the complements =)

here's a new screenshot of the totally adaptable menu system
the colours of these JPEGs are totally washed out... but i don't have time to mess with compression and image settings so... play the game and see how beautiful it all looks your self =D

I tried the demo. It was fun, but I guess it felt a bit too old school for my tastes. Also, it felt a lot more like an adventure/puzzle game than rpg to me.

Pricey, I have played your RPG and I have to admit, it is rather nice . Graphics could do with a bit of tweaking - maybe a nice sky would help to brighten things up.

Otherwise, nice gameplay! I like the way the controls are simple and the game is easy to play. Reminds me very much of ye old Zelda-type games.

Great game so far, but I didn't hear any sounds. I see there's a sounds folder so have you not programmed them in yet?

It's kind of cool. I'm actually very interested to know how you did your letter by letter word wrapping text messages. I went underground at one point and threw my axe into the center of a rock somehow and it got stuck.

Looks pretty cool . What ever happened to Quest? That looked like it was doing so well, then just disappeared...

I was wondering where Quest was too. Pricey, I remember you said in some other thread that Quest was for the NVIDIA compo. This doesn't look like quest.

here you go =)

yeh this is sort of like still the quest engine
but all like speeded and cleaned up!
because the old one had some seriously bad coding in it.
most of it had to be totally re-coded, but this is so much better
i learnt alot from my mistakes and made this one much more efficient (sp?)

enjoy!

The new demo seems quite a lot better now. I actually got enough jewels to go through that door this time. By the way I didn't hear any sounds at all. Other than that this could be a potential winner.

Nice game. I opened the box next to the green monster, and it looks like there is a key in the corner, but i walk over it and can't pick it up.
