By now, we all know how this works.

Post a screen shot of your current desktop(s) so that others can see how you customize/personalize your computing experience. It's usually pretty interesting to see what others prefer compared to what you prefer. I think that's why these threads are popular.

[Mods: If you feel there's been too many of these treads, feel free to lock and delete (unless you want to participate )]

Anyway, here's my Windows Desktop:

And here's my brand-new Ubuntu 9.10 desktop (I customized the theme pretty extensively, but it isn't shown in the screen shot):

Okay guys, your turn!

Man... I'm going to make me look like a little Linux fanboy, but it's just my mood. Just a couple weeks ago everything had a Mario theme ...

Here's my Mac wallpaper:
Click

Ubuntu:

If you're wondering, I'm using the New Wave theme and the DockBarX panel for my taskbar

I have dual monitors, and couldn't live without them

(removed the other monitor cause it would of stretched the page)

@JoelJ:

First off, love the high-resolution on your Mac.
Second: OMG that wallpaper in Ubuntu is awesome! Where'd you get it?

@DJAlmix:

Your wallpaper is schweet as well!

^^favorite picture ever.

[edit]
on a related note, that's actually a 3200x3200 picture... Is there any desktop app that will let me scroll through that picture at will? that'd be really cool.

Does anyone even have 56k anymore? I'm curious about this.

I think one or two people used to on this forum, and i think I heard one of them get angry once... either that or it's just being super duper cautious.

Starting a support group... for sufferers like me, who just can't be bothered keeping their desktop tidy.

Not directly linking the image, because it's not scaled. View it full screen, and rant at it for no good reason for 10 minutes before making yourself another coffee. Best to keep it authentic.

Macbook at the moment (haven't used my desktop for a while)

Once my new stylus arrives I'll probably cough up a pic of my new tablet running a very stripped down Xubuntu install

@Van B: Your desktop has my instant respect, purely because of the MS-DOS shortcut. That icon brings back some good memories

In my mind as long as you use all the icons on your desktop I don't care.

I on the other hand keep my desktop tidy and I still feel like I waste space.

Will post a pic soon. The whole "school" thing kinda won't work here.

See attached (couldn't be bothered to scale it down).

Posting desktop doesn't work as well with Windows 7 as I have my background on rotation so it changes every half hour . This is what it was on at time of posting, I have about 20 images in the rotation though.

I don't know how some of you guys can stand such a messy desktop! Didn't your mothers ever teach you to tidy up?

@Venge and Diggsey: Nice backgrounds!

What is that on the left side of the screen? and how can you disable the iconized taskbar in windows 7!? That's the best thing that has happened to Windows since Solitaire!

Here's mine, kinda messy, but that's only because I had to keep exporting this video with different settings at my internship. I'll buhleet those eventually. Usually I drag URLs to the desktop instead of bookmarking, with the intention of reading them later . . . but that rarely happens.

An Ubuntuntosh (ooh-bunton-tosh)? Cool. I tried to download a nice Mac theme for Ubuntu, but the only decent one I found is still kinda "meh", so I'm probably going to uninstall it.

What was that theme called? I don't have Ubuntu with me at college, but I've got my desktop back home with Xubuntu on it, just waiting to be tinkered with.

I've disabled it because of the 'thing' on the left hand side, it's called Object Dock and allows me to organize my icons.
