Here are a couple screen shots of a building I made and textured. I am working on building a small town for a fantasy game. The camera is low, as I just used Sparky's default (it will be raised). And I think I'll deepen the rooms; but how does it look and feel? How are the textures? How could it look better? There is no sky or fog, just some lights, which I need to figure out how to adjust. Also there will be iron bound doors, which I haven't completed yet.

Thanks for the input.

Looking good so far, textures do seem a bit big though .

Looks nice.

The texture for the ramp needs some work. I'd also add some dirt and blemishes to the wall textures.
Also lightmapping it would improve things 100%

Also you'd probably get better c&c feedback on the 3D chat board.

Gil: What do you mean too big? Here are a couple of the textures. Could you resize them to show me how you think they should be?

Blade: If I add dirt and blemishes, will that make the tiling more obvious? That's why I didn't add any. How would you add these to prevent an obvious tiled appearance? I could add more polys, but that will eat up the frame rate. And... how do I light map it?

Thanks for your help!!!

Oh right, didn't realise it was textured with tiles.
For lightmapping look at Dark Lights or, I think, there is a world builder that has a lightmapper with it - it's callled World, IIRC.

Thanks blade I figured out how to lightmap with photoshop. of course it's static, but it won't eat my frame rate. I also upgraded the camera and put in some of my models. here's a couple new looks with the lightmapped texture tiles:

How does it look? Better I hope...

Thanks,
