-A space-man type thing. Can be anything from a master chief like thing to an astronaut.

Crazy - I'll play ya.
I'm still pretty ameatur to modeling.

2 questions:

1- Poly limit - is this poly's like quads etc or directX poly's which are all triangles?

2- Space Character - can this be a fantasy character like c3po or a klingon or someone like Ming the Merciless?

@flashing blades: if all your faces are squares then its twice the amount of faces in poly count. if you work in blender go to edit>faces> convert to triangles. then look in the top right corner where it says faces or prehaps fa also edit>faces> convert to Quads. to put it back

i work in quads so one quad is equal to one polygon. So if you have a cube that would be 6 polygons. Ya i guess a klingon type warrior would work. I'm planning on using the model i make for a game i'm planning on making so even if i lose it's not a total loss. If this is ok, just give me the word and we can get started.

Edit: Well i just watched your little cube to man thing and i have to say i think i'm toast. But i'm still good for this.

@ Dared - I'm just checking what rules mean by polys - a triangle, square, even flat pentagon is a polygon, except in Dark Basic or DirectX models where all models are triangulated.

@Ninja - OK let's play. I'll do Boba Fett from Star Wars - is that ok?

Do you guys wanna use teh space we gave you or not?

I mean, its all organized and stuff. Theres a board for you to sign up for the competition, leaving you available for any challenges. Then you can post a challenge in the challenge board against anyone whos signed up. If the person you challenged accepted your rules and waht not, then there a board where you cann post the progress for your ongoing challenge.

Crazy Ninja, Now thats the spirit. These challenges gives us the extra boost we need to work harder. So nothing will be lost but everything gained. You will gain more experience and that will make you better the next time around. I think it's awesome.

Sorry for the late response.


Wizzkid, Yes it is the concept art from the AM: forums. I own AM: version 12 along with many plug-ins I have bought.But I don't use AM: any more. When I seen the little guy I wanted to have a try at modeling him but never did. So this little challenge came along and I thought now would be a good time.


Anywho The reference image is just a reference and my model is not true to the picture.
