If someone with exceptional skill made an exciting and good looking game with FPSC, why would it not sell for more than $10.00? I think we're basing our price on what we have seen so far, or what we are personally capable of, which in my opinion is not anything ready for sale."
yes, xplosys, very true. But after all these years and with so many people trying to make games, I think we can successfully say that we have seen the best of what FPSC can create.
Think about Butter's FOTF. Look at the amount of work he's been putting into that. Look at the amazing quality of the game he's producing.
By the time he is done (maybe this year's end!), his game quality (models, textures, sounds etc) will be obsolete!! The only thing that might make his game sell-able would be gameplay! And if it lacks in that, I doubt anyone would play (let alone pay) FOTF!
Think about a classic, say "Duke Nuke 'em". If you had never heard of it, or played it before, would you pay even $10 for it today??
