Once all the prizes are sorted out, thats for dom to decide but the person who picks the next subject can't enter the next comp.

I am so sorry, but I probably won't get time to host it until the end of next week, as I have alot of revising to do over this weekend, and my exams are next week. I'll also compile the pack of all the entrys then.

Sorry for the inconvienience, but you will still have the same length of time to do the project

Dom please e-mail me about the topic, so people here don't get an unfair headstart, no one will know about it except me and you till the comp begins next week.

Eek. Thanks for the grades judges, and a huge congratulations to all who entered!
If you need to know what I would like as a prize, I will choose Kieth's WW2 pack please! I must say I feel a bit guilty choosing a prize with just the one entry... Next time Ill setup a small pack, like Dom did to really payback for all the prize donaters (Word check?).

EDIT: Dom told me the next comps theme; but I most likely wont get round to hosting it till next weekend. But you'll still all have the same time to do it Well done again to the winners and all who contributed.

Alright, firstly i wish to apologize to all the members that took part in this competition.

The reason i wasn't on recently to grade/rate the results of this competition was due to the fact i got a new, part time job that has me working many, many more hours than my previous one, and i also had the SAT to study for.

Considering the competition has already been graded, i dont see much how my vote matters now, however if given the chance i would hav to pick OLEG's curtian for my vote.

My prize offered still stands, i will not back off from that offer i presented earlier.

Again, i apologize for my absence and hope that i hav not created any newfound ill feelings towards mybehalf.

Congratulations to all the winners and participants,

MonT

Mon T your absence has made me pick up your slack. It's already been worked out that I will not only supply the 1st place prize, but yours due to your inactivity. I've already been in contact with the organizers and Bullshock had chose your prize not knowing I would pick up the slack. Bullshock also knows that I will be supplying this prize(which I think is fair anyways since 3 outta the 4 judges had his entry rated higher)now.

If your going to volunteer for something like please make sure your there for the end of it. To me people are their word. I don't care what problems you had. If you knew you were looking for a job or had SAT's coming up you shouldn't have volunteered. End of story.

Now I guess ultimately it's up to Bullshock as to to provides the prize. I don't back down from anything I ever say, so I'll still be happy to do it. I'm down to the texturing on Doms prize, and to give you all a little sneak....I used a different mod for this. Being Dom wanted a more light mech/GOW type char, I didn't want the armor to flex and distort like the physique mod would do so each piece is skin modded to the biped. You'll notice his knee guards don't deform when he bends. The only flexing is the hoses that conect to the helmet and between the shin guards and the boots I dont think the ghosting looks as bad as the deformation but we'll see when the thing is fully textured. If FPSC could handle more polys I could have done so much more with this type of skinning the mesh.

Since Doms seen it I see no reason why the rest of you can't.

What are you giving the 4th place winner (me)?...A hard time.
If you volunteer to judge or provide a prize for a competiton you should be prepared to fulfill your duties.If not you need to let somebody know as soon as possible.
While Bullshock was willing to take the high road on this (and I am glad Loc stepped up so he didn't have to) this is not fair...especially to the others who worked hard to keep the compo going as well as the judges.

WEll I wish you good luck, but dont get too stressed with them. If you are talking about the SATs in Britain, they mean nothing. Are you doing the Year 9 SATs? REvise well, and keep calm, to get used to the GCSE's when it comes to them. Got mine in 4 weeks. Nervous... very very nervous haha. Sorry to go off topic

@loc

i have been in need of a charecter for a long time, but since i have the ability to model myself, i would only pick such a thing if a pro like you were making it, because i know the exeption quality of things you produce. ive looked at some of monT's work and (no offence) but hes produced nothing i cant do myself...

I just want to make sure your 100% ok with this, i mean i know how much work a charecter is, and you dont have to do it if you dont want to, just let me know, and it'll be no problem ill drop it...I really dont want to make you do all of that work though if you really dont want to..

@everyone else...

competitions start out small and ussually grow, maybe everyone can learn from this one and possibly make a bigger and better one next month...

Yeah and me and Dom have already discussed what the next comps going to be about. And me and Loc have discussed criterea. Hopefully this id going to be a good one. This one was a big sucess for being the first one.

Also I was thinking: this comp had two months for people to enter, should I do the same on the next one or shorten it to one month?

Bullshock we're going to do you up man. The problem is I'm not a pro so it takes me a little longer. I'm working on his texture now, and you can see all I've worked on is the torso, and not even done with the rear of it and I'm at like 250+ layers so far. One of those folders holds 48 screws alone.

Just get somethings in mind, cause when I'm done(and I'm not going to rush Doms prize) we'll get to your character for your project.

What Dom said he kinda wanted:

If you could do like Dom did I'd really appreciate it. Give me a visual clue as to what your going to want.

Should i email you now? or wait for you to finishyour current project?

PS, i am SOOOO thankful for this, this is one of the reasons no one hase seen my game in the showcase yet, because there all just levels....

I got your concepts. I was going to email Dom tonight with my progress. I will be contacting you via email very soon. and the long letter helps. With Dom I had much more freedom, but thats OK too. We'll just have some tougher questions for you.

I'm working on it though. I'm about half way done, 2 psd's later(becasue after like 250 layers you start to lag so I break them up). I'm thinking like a day and a half left? Somewhere in there. I had a horrible problem where I had to redo some because I hadn't saved, and someone sent me a beta that wasn't right and locked me up(cough, cough, you know who you are, and I curse you!!!)

We'll get there. Maybe I'll post the updates here instead of mailing them to Dom.
