You are aware that what you are doing is not legal, right? Last time I checked Nintendo and Sega hold pretty strict copywrite laws on this stuff. So in a sense providing a copyrited material is the same thing as theft.

To qoute from Nintendo.com Here is the LINK

And here is the qoute just in case you decide not to read it. I am sure sega is in line with this as well.

Nintendos definition on copyrites..

Quote: "A copyright is an exclusive right granted to an author of a literary, musical, audiovisual or artistic work, giving the author the sole right to reproduce and distribute that work. There are several different types of copyrights which are associated with Nintendo's products. These include various copyrights in Nintendo's software source code, executable code, game visual display, game music, game characters, product packaging, game manuals and labels; hardware chip microcode; artwork and publications."

A bit about counterfieting nintendo's stuff.

Quote: "A counterfeit Nintendo product is an illegal copy of an authentic Nintendo product. These counterfeit products often originate from Taiwan, Hong Kong or China. The production, distribution, or sale of counterfeit Nintendo products is illegal. Nintendo has brought thousands of legal actions worldwide to stop counterfeiters. In addition, thousands of criminal actions have been brought against those found to be distributing, reproducing, or selling unauthorized, illegal copies of Nintendo video game products throughout the world, including criminal actions against on-line distributors.

For more information on piracy issues regarding the videogame industry, please visit the Entertainment Software Association's website at http://www.theESA.com/ "

Might do you some good to browse around the web and find out what you can and can not do.

Also if you have any doubts here are the phone numbers to contact to legitimize what I have said.

from the states 1-800-255-3700 or you can simply email them at
noalegal@noa.nintendo.com

Cheers,
Dave

Don't think so mate. I'm willing to bet a years salary on it. Did you pay for these models? Did you by the distribution copyright for them? What you are doing is allowing ripped media from a MAJOR game development group to be distributed.

No copyrights + distribution = Illegal...

[edit] I also think you need to remove the Sega stuff as well. This is kind of pathetic if you ask me. You have been a member since 2004 and obviously have learned nothing from your dealings in game dev. Remember this unless it is expressed in the copyright that you can distribute you may not provide a link to the media. You will know if you own copyrights to something because it's normally a per unit contract much like licensing music. I use century media family group to license any songs that I may need. It costs me 10 cents a unit. and the minimum contract is 5,000 units and you have to pay that up front. So unless you have signed a bunch of documents then you don't own the copyrights and are not permitted to distribute....[/edit]

You said...

Quote: "never mind...can't argue with the law...
but still i think the models are legal...just like you can download warez if you have the game..."

Fact...

Quote: "Can I Download a Nintendo ROM from the Internet if I Already Own the Authentic Game?

There is a good deal of misinformation on the Internet regarding the backup/archival copy exception. It is not a "second copy" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted work, you are entitled to have a second copy of the copyrighted work even if that second copy is an infringing copy. The backup/archival copy exception is a very narrow limitation relating to a copy being made by the rightful owner of an authentic game to ensure he or she has one in the event of damage or destruction of the authentic. Therefore, whether you have an authentic game or not, or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet. "

This applies to all ROM's and Warez files.

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Dave

I'd be unsurprised if it's not legal to distribute the models, but I think it's OK, so long as you don't just plop them in your game and sell it. It would be interesting to have a look at how professional models are put together.
I know it's quite usual for car manufacturers to buy other companies' cars just to take them to pieces and see what's inside. I'm pretty sure it's not then OK for them to replicate the entire thing and sell it, but it's OK for them to take a look.

Uhm, Well if he doesn't distribute them I could really careless, I'm just concerned that more links will show up. See posting them here just doesn't affect the poster but also TGC as well. See posting them here can get TGC caught up in the legal crap that can and most likely will follow. Just my two cents......

Dave
