Hi all - I've dusted off my Dark Basic a few weeks ago after not touching it in literally 4 years. So... I had to learn it all over. Here's what I have been putting together - (Not All Material is home grown - nor the dark gray fighter model) .. though I like the way the code works and the game is starting to look - do you? (Compared to the Starwars post... I know this is different caliber - but that's fine with me - this is a hobby - and I'm having fun! P.S. I just got Dark GDK C++ so I have to translate a ton of code - but into classes - a big set back - but after seeing the star wars images - I'm inspired!

Nuff chat: Some Screens:

BTW - AG Fighter is my "current" name for it ... simply Anti-gravity fighter. The name alone covers hours of coding a physics engine based flight simulation engine.... I used a scientific time honored technique - "Wrap Story Line Around Technical Difficulties"

I can't see any of the screens.

Cheers,

Edit
As soon as I posted the screens appeared. They look cool. But you need some lighting effects on the fighter model. ^_^

Thanx for the suggestions. Truth is - I don't have a clue how to do the multi-textured stuff - nor the lights and shaders all that stuff. Shoot - I added a simple water "plain" - and I could only "see" it when I fly straight DOWN at it - any angle at all it turns to the fog color - so I put the water on hold for now.

I'm having fun though Trying.

One thing I am halfway decent at is music - and I have a cool home-grown sound track in it. I have some ramblings on line at http://www.jasonpetersage.com/ - the music track for example - is a piece I "never finished" but its perfect for flying around in a sci-ish game: http://www.jasonpetersage.com/musictrax/CreatorGadget_20050508_02.mp3

It has a strangeness about it works well for me - for now I call it creator gadget cuz some of the root notes are not unlike inspector gadget - rocked out a tiny bit.

Best Regards,
Jason P Sage

[edit]P.S. I Got Specular Working once (looks cool but I always thought it rumored as REALLY taxing) - and transparent sheild looking spheres - but thats about it for lighting so far[edit]

Impressive stuff. Both the sci-fi and tank game. Nice music too. Seems like you know what you're doing. I look forward to seeing some more.
