I recently bought a PPU from BFG and have been fooling around with Dark Physics, mainly fluids. And apart from the major performance hit, i have discovered some issues.

Installing the newest driver from Ageia causes most applications using fluids to crash. "Physics hardware present, but couldn't reset and initialize properly." Rolling back to the previous driver (7.05.06) fixed this though.

Secondly, if the camera is too close to the fluids, it stops updating the mesh until you move further away. It can even cause an "Internal driver error."

Thirdly, wether this is a bug or not, fluids don't collide with dynamic meshes. If I create the hardware scene manually, it produces the error "TriangleMeshShape created in hardware scene (NxShape address 0x1259cab0), but no pages on mesh (not cooked properly?). Collisions disabled for this shape!" and crashes, if i just use "phy start" it doesn't produce an error, but the collision is still not present.

As a last thing it would be nice if fluid acceleration could be set to "burst mode", so it just get pushed once, instead of continuous acceleration.

If anyone has discovered any work-arounds to any of these problems, i would appreciate a reply.

I had a look after you post about it and I seem to be getting the exact the same problem. It seems to either freeze or produce and error.

I've done some further testing, and I can't seem to use dynamic meshes in a hardware scene at all, it just crashes with the abovementioned error.

Sounds like you have the same problem I have. The physx card I bought for working with DarkPhysics wont' work on my machine, but it does work on my husbands, but he's not interested in Dark Basic.

We both have the latest version of the drivers (at this time 07.07.24).

It's apparently a rare problem where some motherboards don't seem to like PhysX cards.

Nothing I say is intended to be rude. My autism means that I do not know what is rude and what isn't rude. I apologize if I seem rude. It is not my intention.
