I recently did some work for my old school doing some special effects and whatnot. One of the scenes was star wars themed while the main act was harry potter so 'harry' and 'ron' (who actually hasd black hair ) battle an evil 'hagrid'. I didn't write it, I didn't direct it. Just filmed, edited and rotoscoped. I know it's not technically 3d but last time I posted my lightsaber video here it seemed like people appreciated it more than if I posted it in geek culture.

So, without further ado, my new lightsaber vid.

I'd appreciate comments and ratings and feel free to check out my other vids on my youtube account

That was rude...

Here's the thread in 3d chat that I made for my first lightsaber vid, people didn't idiotically shout out "Mods, please lock this random thread."

Thanks Trinity Pictures I really appreciate it. It could be moved to geek culture but seeing as this was partly done in maya (tried some matchmoving to escape some of the monotony of rotoscoping but it didn't work that well), it could be considered 3d

my video seems to prove otherwise don't you think? jk. I know you can't pick it up by the laser but you can't turn a wand/stapler into a lightsaber by saying the word schwartz (sp?) either can you?

I use after effects for most of the rotoscoping but also some maya for matchmoving. The matchmove didn't work very well so I gave up on that but there's still some maya matchmoved effects in there. (see if u can spot it It looks slightly different that the rest of the effects -about 5 seconds worth-)

I thought it was hilarious! The lightsabers were done quite well, good job. I do agree with Trinity though, it should get moved to geek chat. You would probably get more responses from there too.

Thanks for the comments guys. To me, I feel geek culture is really prone to flames and 3d chat is better to post in because people here who like graphics kind of have more respect for this kind of stuff and how tedious it is to rotoscope. If a mod feels it should be moved so be it, but I just like the people in 3d chat more

The acting and stuff was soooo bad that it was funny.

The effects aren't that bad at all. Would've liked to see some more flashes on contact, though.

Hehe, I was not one of the actors, I was behind the camera. However I believe it would be quite much more lame if I WAS actually acting
