the link to the second video:

http://www.alia3d.com/ele/trailer1.htm

the link to the first video:

http://www.alia3d.com/ele/trailer2.htm

This second video is for showing the sound (music,fx,ambient, speeches, etc...) in the game, but for the moment only in Spanish.

This video is more older and longer than the first. So that it´ll not show much more contents than the previous(It was not made to appear on the forum), sorry.

Some imagery of the trailer:

can we see some full resolution screenshots? the first video was awesome (and so should this one), and im positive it is all it looks to be, but those nasty compressed video captures don't do justice

just a thought.

great work from your studio, as everyone seems to be saying, this really shows the potential of FPSC with a lil' elbow grease

As much as i like this game but.
Now you have three threads concerning this game.

1 in Product Chat,
2 in Showcase.

Isnt it better to post the videos all in one thread?

wow FPSC is getting some huge publicity. Its crazy that such a good looking game could be made with a inefficient, slow, bugged program

do you maybe wanna release your version of FPSC to me

Wow if I saw this on a store shelf I would never expect it to be made with FPSC! However why are the charaters so small and cartoon like?

@Slayer: It's called artistic style or approach or whatever. Get over it.

I really like this, looks very promising. Either you got the shaders to work properly or you implented hard-coded specularity. However, it looks really nice.

Impressive. Thanks for showing the possibilities. My only complaint would be the fact that you began to show this way to early and had a lot of people wondering if it was for real. It's the nature of the beast, I guess... really wanting to show it off but being held back by business constraints.

Best of luck with sales and future projects.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Well I don't have a problem with the peoples size just wondering why they decided to do that because the rest of the entities seem "real human size" if you understand that

Thank you very much for your observation and comments. And excuse me if I´m slow to answer, We are a little saturated in the studio.

Quote: "However why are the charaters so small and cartoon like?"

- Yes, it´isnt habitual design for the fps. Not only the charaters´re so small and cartoon, the buildings, the entities, windows, door have a cartoon style. As Cheese Cake says, If you look closer some of the building also have a "cartoony" style

For example if you pay attention in this image, you will be able to observe than them box, the radio, etc.. have a little cartoon deformation.

When you see the first images and videos of the another fpsc game that we are doing, you will be able to see that we aren´t very conventional.

The coming videos possibly we will put in youtube.

This week we will put a couple of (hi-res) images.

Bye.

Sweet, really shows what (a modified version of) FPSC can do. I hope you speed up the engine though (take out redundant code ect.) to get better performance and setup a timing system (so speeds are constant at all framerates).

did you modify the source code?

because i think there is a normal map shader on the segemtns and i know that they will be too bright if you add an shader!

if yes, could you release your version? because this is something a lot of people want! and if not, explain please, how you add the shaders working on the segments

thx

I'm from Germany so don't say something about my English! Otherwise i will be a bit angry!^^

If they are the company they appear to be making a commercial game, I doubt they'll be releasing their modified game EXE.

HI.. Thank you very much for your observation and comments, I repeat, excuse me if I´m slow to answer, We are a little saturated in the studio.

Quote: "did you modify the source code?"

- No, We did´nt modify code, but... I think that we modified all the rest, for sample, all shaders of game are of creation of one's own like ELEbump, ELEwater, ElErefract, etc... We modified the system of creation of scenarios, hundred of scripts, etc... At the end we have managed to the game work in a old PC systems with a stable framerate. fpsc It´s a fantastic program, That it´s permitting developing us two games in record time. There is´nt another program on the market that permit doing this.

Quote: " How much is this game going to be?"

- We are in negotiations, I can´t give more information for the moment, sorry.

A couple of ELEshaders images.

thank you, dimoxinil. i could never understand, how so many people wanted this "altered" source code. when i watched your vids, i saw that you are very experienced artists, who are pushing the existing possibilities of fpsc to its limits. and if you see the works of other talented artist like rolfy, jon, bond, errant ai, gps,... you name them, then you will know that you don't have to be a skilled programmer to create superb fpsc stuff.

good luck with our product

LOL

Sorry but I do find it amusing how when a new demo arrives in the showcase which looks professional a bunch of people come in claiming that it must be an amended source code build.

I'd have been amazed if it was given the only available source code is currently v1.0 and the lighting in this is clearly using post v1.04.

On the other hand dimoxinil did kind of muddy the waters here a bit by suggesting Inspire was a wise man after suggesting it was a source code edit in an earlier thread. Yes some of us do read all of this stuff so be careful what you say!

Anyway that being said and now we have confirmation that this ISN'T a source code edit. There are some serious questions to be answered regarding the custom shaders being used and to a slightly less extent the animated menus.

Do you guys have any intention of releasing your FPSC custom shader files once this game is released or selling them as there is probably a couple of hundrerd people that would love to have fully working shaders in their games. Or at least give us some guidance on how they were created e.g. amended versions of the originals or completely new from scratch.

At least we know it's the shaders themselves and not the engine which is hardly surprising as they haven't been updated since FPSC was released way back when. Lee did mention the shaders lighting model wasn't the best and the light source information is contained within the shader files themselves.

Any further information regarding the animated menus would be cool but the fact we know it's based on the HL2 animated scenes at least gives a starting point for research.

Looking forward to seeing more videos on this. If we could have one showing off the water shader that would be nice and any other shaders you have got into FPSC.

Yes I'm very jealous, there I said it!

I think I know how, Airslide. I toyed with a similar idea when scripting stuff in Gone.

EDIT: Explanation removed.

dimoxinil: Can you send me an email, seeing as yours is not posted? I would like to talk about your menu because I'm am almost sure about how you did it. I'm gonna' test it out first thing in the morning.

Your game looks fantastic. Makes me wanna' make shaders for my game.

About shaders: Does anybody here own DarkShader (looking for Airslide)? I was wondering what sort of file it generates. Because couldn't we use that to get better shaders in our game, if it makes a .fx file?

EDIT: I definitely know how you made the menu. I have it almost working, save for a few bugs.

No. I'm working on a video for it.

Maybe if I get it working completely (not that far off), I could create a program to automatically generate the required code. That isn't such a far fetched idea, is it?

Inspire - I own DarkShader. It does export FX files, in several cases tweaked so it shouldn't be hard to get them into FPSC. I've never had much luck with fullscreen shaders, but that's probably my fault, though those wouldn't work in FPSC anyways.

The only problem is that if you need extra texture maps FPSC might not read them in for you. This could easily be fixed if we had new FPE definitions for different texture stages.

With any luck when Lee ceases his X10 coding spree and puts all that stuff into X9 (because we all know he's such a fabulous person ) we'll finally get the source and I can add my many thousands of planned improvements (many of which I already know how to do after editing the original source) and then put that up for download and we'll all go home happy.......outta breath

He said that he wanted to have a unified codebase for both versions, so I think when he's done with X10, source updates for X9 shouldn't be too far behind.

That would be wonderful.

But back on topic: I've yet to buy a game made with FPSC but games like this one are making me change my philosophy very quickly. In other words I will buy your game and maybe some of the others around here when released *wink* *wink*
