I had a request by email for 3D modelling help they need to learn when making their fan game, I don't know if they surf these forums though, and incidentally I've ended up making a tutorial for them and am sharing it with the community.

Now, it's nothing complicated, which is the whole point as it's aimed at beginners. It does require yourself to be familiar with:
-Face Edit Mode
-Vertex/Point Edit Mode
-Single and Multiple Selection
-Face Extrusion
-Knife/Cutting
-Adjusting points/faces via Scaling, Moving or Rotating
-How to make object

Yes, I used tools as simple as those, which I thought would help with some of the more 'basic' applications beginners tend to use

Anything less than that, then learn how to use your application first.

You will be modelling a Pokemon - I gave up that craze a long long time a go (I did him on the request of my emailer) - but at the end you will have your own Charizard Model.

You'll see it's on my new website:

Enjoy!

Looks good, I am about to do it and see what I can do. However, I think you can show us how to begin the wings, that would be lovely.

good, although you've ended up with some nasty folds on the nostrils, they could have been a bit rounder too.

Should help a few people out with the actual concepts of modelling though.

I don't have a sig, live with it.

Cheers, though it was never intended to be accurate, just to end up with a result using the simplest of tools. And I hope it does help people out with the concepts of modelling.

Thanks.

Organics are my roughest spot...and this tutorial will help a bit I think. Still working on the whole issue of a working computer(that's mine, that I can do my work on, etc) to use, but I'll have to remember this thread when it's running again
