Here you can post a presentation of you current projects without making an own thread and others can post reviews.
Because its easier to post here than making an own thread.
For example if you don't have the time to "nurse" an own one.

You can post everything, 3d models, music, DB projects.

I'll start:

My current project is called Desert D.e.a.d

Its a multiplayer first person shooter but Ill add a single player soon too.

Finally the engine supports shaders.

The lightcolor of the gun is affected by the global light.

You do understand that you're just creating a WIP board... as a thread? Its the same exact thing. If you don't have time to nurse a WIP, then don't post it.

i think i understand what you were going for in starting this thread, jack, but the forums are structured well enough.

Quote: "
You can post everything, 3d models, music, DB projects.
"

there are more appropriate places for these vs piling them all up into a single thread. it's why TGC forums has numerous boards...

Quote: "
its easier to post here than making an own thread
"

how is it easier? and, threads die for a reason...

...as i'm sure this one will unless you make it your WIP thread for Desert D.E.A.D., but i have a feeling you don't meet the criteria for that or it would be.

This thread makes no sense. Are we going to have 10+ people leap-frogging updates on their game?

Besides, if I had a WIP I wouldn't want anybody else stinking up my post with their project!

I'm not a real programmer but I play one with DBPro!

I think he actually made it for people who want to show a little bit of their WIP but isn't quite ready for a WIP thread so they can show a really quick Idea of what their game will be. If not then my aploogies.

I think it's DBPro.. you may have seen it because they are working on it at least for a year now, or even longer, as far as I know.

I think this thread is a good idea, we can post a pre-WIP without worrying about updating and letting the thread die.

My current project is a 3D platformer engine, codenamed Mekal. (my cousin Michael's nickname) I'm 3 months into this project and this is the first time I've done anything 3D on this scale, so a real WIP is still months away.

The actual game will have much better graphics and an animated player model, this is just a quickly-made level for testing purposes.

The engine supports many aspects of platformers, including running around, jumping, swimming, moving/rotating platforms, trampolines, and anti-gravity zones. Right now I'm working on the battle engine so you can defend yourself against enemies.

Yes the idea behind this thread is to post "pre-WIP" projects so the community will be more informed about your talents.

@ Code dragon I like the shaderless water.

@ Dark Dragon shure I can. Ill post an example code for a 16 player tps soon and some free objects.

Edit:

Here's your multiplayer demo:
http://www.onlineartsgames.de/inex.rar
You'll need the tempset plugin for this.

And this is a small plant just made this for testing purposes.
You can use it in your projects.

Cool screenies dark dragon, and I will be sure to use the plant model, Jack. I can't model for my life.

Quote: "I like the shaderless water."

Thanks, but it is shadered. I thought putting in fresenal water when I've never used shaders before would be overkill, so until then I'll stick with the standard pocean shader. This shot shows the effect very well:

The blue balls are energy projectiles for the combat system. Coding the physics to make them bounce when they hit something has been a nightmare, but it's almost done.

just get a Rnd angle and then check if its >90. if it is simply reapeat.once you have a good angle..move the object (or sprite)abobut 6 every loop until its off screen and then kill it.....

Wow that's great Jack.

I have a few youtube videos of my game, think I'll post a proper WIP once I actually have a model for the player.

Is it okay to post about a game engine made in C/C++? You did say anything.

Sweet. Well then, here's the Twilight Engine, a C/C++ SDK intended for application and game development, here's a screenshot showing it's antialiasing abilities.

This thead is a waste of time.If you aren't ready to post a WIP this is just a way of getting around the requirements of the WIP board...which you can't do.This thread is in the WIP board and is subjective to the same requirements as any other WIP thread.
Since this thread itself does not meet the requirements of a WIP it should be locked.
The WIP requirements are there for a reason. There are other boards and places where you can post about the next great game you just started working on.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

@FredP: He wants to see programs being made by other programs instead of just DBPro Or DBC or FPSC. Like Aaron is using C++. And I hope that it carries on.

This is a small project called paint2 made in DBP

Here you can download the exe and the full code, enjoy
http://www.onlineartsgames.de/paint.rar
EDIT: You should put the GUI.dll into your plugin user folder!

Heres an other wip. Its a pixelart project.
I saved the older versions to be able to take a look at the progress:

Some of us are wondering if this is simply an attempt to circumvent the rules for the W.I.P board, and some of us are wondering what the point of a W.I.P.O.A.W.I.P is? (Work in progress on a work in progress)

I think that the bottom line is that if you have enough detail to post in this thread, then you are likely to have enough detail to create your own post, which makes this whole post redundant.
