You also have to consider the people that have worse hardware then your own. I prefer low poly, deffenently for guns and all, leave the detail where it is mainly needed (people, cars, etc.) That is my oppinion on that.

@Lee Stevens: Just to let you know before you start characters build up bits and pieces of the character. So then you know what to do when you are making a complete model.

I think he's asking about attached a link to an image banner in his sig...

What you do is, find/make a banner you want, go into your signature settings and type (I can't actually type it in here because the forum will treat it as code, so I'll use () rather than [], just replace them where necessary)

(href = http://yourwebsite.com)(img)http://youwebsite.com/yourimage.jpg(/img)(/href)

I shot the sheriff

What really bugs me is that on the first top questions you have spelled every word with the first letter as a capital(like: I Like Big Flowers And Poo) next time just don't I really hate it when people do that

I model I clean and I cook for you... AND I STILL DONT GET A COOKIE!!?!!?!?!!?!??

@Lee Stevens:
1.The pullback e.g. the bit where it recoils.. the mag. and maybe hands if you want them.
2.If you are a detail person then high-poly but none of these would work in a game but just a view, maybe use them in a animation. But more people prefer low-poly because of game making wise.
3.Make the hands.

you dont model the character and the gun together... Yes you might end up combining the two seperate models as one on the final export... but you definitely shouldn't be making them 1 conjoined mesh, unless the weapon is something like megaman's arm or the big-daddy drills.
