So custom GUIs in Java are kinda annoying. Especially when you can't use a GUI builder and have to create a new type of GUI element.

It looks cool but it doesn't seem like that much of an upgrade from model B. Perhaps that's because I run it over SSH so I only need a wifi adapter in the USB port and because I don't use all the GPIO ports (yet)

Also related to the RPi, today I finally got my "robot/RC car" working (it was able to drive a few meters at least). Tomorrow I need to try and fix the issues im having with the servos on it. I haven't managed to center the gear that Im using to turn the back wheels properly so it skips about half a lap and it seems like the steering servo is to weak/inaccurate to turn the wheels.

I might post a video of it running tomorrow

Please do!

Hey guys, I recall mention of this somewhere a year ago, but finally it surfaced...

Girls Make Games

Please back it if you support the idea... 28 days to go!

Just thought it deserved mentioning here...

I have not backed it for a number of reasons which I do not need to mention... but again I feel it needs the attention it deserves!

And the game looks pretty cute and fun to play, I am a big fan of Harvest Moon, so digging is something I like in games, just not gotten around to coding it myself!

Please share it around on your social networks as well!

I hate working with engines and gears, it seems like the gears will always find that tiny way to drift out of place and mess everything up :/

Sounds about right, but you gotta be careful with the almonds - make sure to fold them immediately after removing it from the oven, or it hardens.

We have a Pi sitting on a shelf with an antenna-to-patch-leaded Galaxy S2 hooked up to it, acting as a USB-tethering internet hub. Works really well We bought the Pi ages ago for use in a Mame cabinet, but have yet to find the money for the cabinet itself. I don't remember exactly which model we have, should probably work that out.

You know, you could always build one...

If you really need an old school tube screen, I saw a hand full the other day in the local recycle centre, and pretty sure they work...

For controls, just by one of those SF Arcade Sticks...

Or is this something not like what I have in mind >.<

?

EDIT

You got me thinking now... [Ignore the tube screen though]

I might make one of these or a few for a game event like Eurogamer or EGX or PLAY Expo... for my releases I will likely make a Making Of to go with it... will design my own though, not a classic style one, can design these myself...

NICE!

Now I cannot wait to do something similar next year!!!!!!! love the wheels!

Would a belt chain not do better for the main motor [back wheels], might save the disconnection issue...

I am also now very interested in making drones ^^

Thanks The Zoq2!

EDIT

I WANT TO DO THIS!!!

Could build a 100+ cluster to host multiplayer games

UHH Maybe not... will stick to Intel based solutions and Windows

This was amusing...

Hmm...

AHAHAHAHA MUST WATCH!

WOAH! 1200KG!

Maybe, but I think I might have a sollution for the problem. I will put a plastic bar between the motor and the axis that the gear is on.

No, the issue is that the servo can swing away from the gear it's driving which it does when i make it go forward. If I "connect" the axis to the servo, it won't be able to swing away. Also, I can fix the "reverse reverse" issue by changing some variables in python

That's what I meant. We fully intend to build one. But our cars are constantly breaking and sucking all our money right now. You'd think eventually you'd replace all the worn out parts, but it's a bit like painting the Harbour Bridge.

Quote: "If you really need an old school tube screen, I saw a hand full the other day in the local recycle centre, and pretty sure they work..."

We have several CRT TVs. And we live in the sticks and have no recycling centre within 100km. The best we have is an open landfill where people just dump everything

Quote: "For controls, just by one of those SF Arcade Sticks..."

We already bought a set of arcade sticks and buttons off eBay when we bought the Pi.

No. Do not post videos like this again.

This thread might be a toilet, but toilets can be flushed.

Don't think for 1 second that this thread is for the content that's unsuitable for the rest of the forum, I will lock, delete, and be done with this thread in a heartbeat and not even feel bad afterwards.
This thread is for your daft posts and spam, not a distasteful video competition.

Yeay, my robot now runs both backwards and forwards without skipping gears (how do you even say that in English ). I also upgraded from 5 double A batteries to a 7.2V 2000mAh battery which gives it a bit more power. Right now im having an issue with my front servo not being accurate enough to control the car. I'll probably post a video of it tomorrow

Looking forward to it

I went to MCM Comicon today....... what a let down, four hours dressed as a ninja waiting in the rain just to get in to find there were no devs there... pft, ended up photoboming a few photos and just walking around... might go to EGX and PLAY EXPO and maybe skip eurogamer expo this year, but meh... who knows... Hope TGC make an appearance again at one of the events... I like handing out the flyers ^^

You too? Damn, I was there man. General entry was awful. I just went in, threw a 100 at the Gundammad lady and went off back home with my Gunpla. Turns out someone else I know from some IRC channels I go to is going there tomorrow. I also went to Play Expo last year with my ex and it was a rather fun but also boring experience (Expositions are just glorified dealers markets after all). I actually remember there being a booth with FPS Creator Reloaded there which actually sent a bit of a shock down my spine. Not sure whether I want to go to Play Expo this year though, I might save up to go to London MCM again in October (It was good fun in May).

Yeah, you're not the only one. Avast is literally pinging up anything coming from pomf.se however I've been in word with the person that runs pomf.se and he tells me that this issue is on Avast's end and not his websites end, he also posted an update to his blog about this. I trust him as I've been friends with him for a long time now. However I will change my avatar to make it easier for people I suppose.
