Trying to connect to a wpa2 wireless network but it keeps throwing the error "carrier lost" after requesting a dhcp lease.

Ah I see. I really have no experience with Linux, and unfortunately there seems to be nearly no one else with your problem, but a quick Google did bring up this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=86972

They're talking about a wired network, but maybe that'll contain a clue to help you solve it

EDIT: My TAFE course that I'm doing right now required me to create an animation in Flash, so this is what I made. It's just a silly random test for most Flash features, and the YouTube version of it seems to pause slightly in a couple of places (when it was perfectly smooth in the original), but... whatever:

Lol, I didn't put all of them as not to create a massive post. But yes, I think it is time for us to have a new banner contest. I haven't much feedback on this idea yet. Anyone else willing to give their feedback yet?

As VP, I might as well do these things every now and then. nonZero seems to have totally disappeared, sadly.

lol ok. Well i was playing with some slight redesign ideas today. Just need to make a rough 3d models to make it easier for me to draw. While i was playing around with alternative designs, i came up with something that looks like a heavy version of the above chopper. I still like this one as i put a lot of effort into it. If i dont come up with anything better i guess i am rolling with it.

Anyone else play Chivalry? I play frequently on Hyquin's classic duels server (which is Aussie, unfortunately, so most of you won't want to join me), and I'm really struggling. I'm properly good in normal FFAs or other modes (as in, one of the best players around, along with my brother), but on that classic duels server I just struggle against the high-level wildly-spinning experienced fighters. Is there any tactic that someone could suggest that might help me?

I mean, normally I just love an insanely difficult challenge and will keep fighting 'til I win, but for once I seem totally incapable of killing a single person. Not one. I rarely even get a hit in.

Ugh, I'm feeling totally off today...

This is how I learned it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3oA4wfUBak

I also learned that magic e only has enough range to jump over one letter. So in words like hammer, dotted, and cattle, the "e" can't make the vowel stronger because it doesn't have enough range to cast magic over more than one letter.

Then of course you have to ruin the fun by introducing exceptions, such as camel, baggage, and engine.

[EDIT] Who remember this song?

@James H
I don't even know how to respond to that other than saying that's ludicrous. The wife is clearly over judgmental, I don't exactly understand how your gf is tied into a mother-daughter conflict but she seems over judgmental as well, and you shouldn't be scared if someone calls the police because this website is clearly for game developers and is heavily moderated.

We're talking about the internet. If someone dumps me solely based on the websites I visit I'd be happy.

MOVING ON

I have tried to turn the printer off and on again, and I still thing we're out of ink.

Ive been banned from enough forums to learn to be careful with what i post. I also saw some people banned from this forum. I missed out on what Mr Handy posted but from what it sounds like it reminds me of a school presentation i did once. Every Friday our programming class was required to do presentations on anything that has to do with technology. So i decided to do a presentation on the upcoming release of GTA4. My teacher is usually very cool with mature content and respected the fact that we were almost adults and can handle mature content. My presentation was pretty much borderline. I was going to talk about technological improvements on the graphics and physics engine and show an unrated trailer (they couldnt stop me since it wasnt rated M) Basicaly it was borderline. First the teacher had me censor some of the screenshots (i quickly pasted pictues of kittens over screens that contained elements of blood and violence) Then i showed the trailer. Btw we did these presentations together with the neighboring office-tech class (a class that taught how to be a secretary pretty much) And their teacher was one of those middle aged ladies who gets needlessly concerned/angry about stuff that dosent bother most men. While my teacher was ok with the trailer, and despite that the trailer showed no direct violence just guns being shot car chases explosions and Niko Bellik walking through atmospheric surroundings of Liberty City... get ready guys...

A vauge distant silouette of what appeared to be a stripper (or ot could be a silouette of a regular woman leaning against a pole) which flashed on the screen for less than a second set this teacher off. And they asked me to stop the trailer. She did not think her office techies were mature enough for this kind of content even tho we were all seniors and at least 17yo. (I was 18 already)

But yes over-protective mothers really irritate me. Im my in significant personal opinion, kids who grew up with more freedom given to them by parents turned out to be better people. I am not talking about myself because i am actually a terrible person and was raised by grandparents and then my aunt and uncle after who I lived alone since i was 17yo. When i was a kid, during the 90s, the pop culture in Russia where i grew up became so screwed up, there was just too much bad things being shown and happening all over the place that it was pointless to be overprotective.

Something tells me that whatever Mr Handy posted that got this lady so offended will be lauged off by the police if she actually goes to them. So i dont think there is anything to worry about.

I am a Russian and now i am curios to see and tell you guys if its offensive or not. I probably wont get offended but i can tell you if its generally offensive or not. Russians on the internet (especially now) are constantly being blasted by offensive things. We are learning how to deal with it by taking it and turning it into a satire joke or something amusing or cute

Installing gentoo on my desktop computer.

I can control the entire installation process remotely over ssh from my laptop. My computer is actually so loud, I had to move it to another location in the house so I can sleep in my bedroom while the kernel compiles. So here I am lying in my bed with my laptop.

I tried getting the hang of gentoo but its too hard. But from what i heard it has the advantage of being able to take apart and recompile any piece of software from any unix distro.

You know anything about Sabayan- its like a user friendly gentoo distro. (it wouldnt install on the particular harddrive i want to install it on) I never had the chance to use it but i am curios to hear of what gentoo or sabayan are like.
