I get it now!!!!!!!!!! Now I understand what budokaiman's signature means. It only took me a cumulative number of hours staring at his signature over the past several months, wondering what it meant.

Clonkex, in what thread was it a few months back that I told you to get off your high horse?

I remember saying that but I don't remember why, or what it was in response to. I can't find it, maybe I dreamt it up haha

Either way, I mostly meant it as a joke I believe. Maybe it wasn't even you, maybe I was telling someone else to.

Lord knows how many people I've said that to, including myself

I'm loving this Matrix and Linear Algebra stuff. Kinda. Not particularly, it's hard. Vector spaces are trippy and linear transformations are trippier. Eigenvectors aren't too bad though. Projection is pretty cool, if a bit complicated.

It's all linear until you have to find the roots of a cubic function.

Given a square matrix A and a vector v, there are cases when the matrix A multiplying v will yield the same result vector as multiplying a scalar value λ with the vector v:

A*v = λ*v

If this is the case, then v is an eigenvector and λ is an eigenvalue.

Does anyone here know how to obtain a log of all files that they have uploaded to the forums?

I have a file I really would like to obtain, but it's on an HDD in a non operational computer, but I believe I also uploaded the same file to these forums at one point.

Do you know when you uploaded it, and to what thread?

If it's on here, I wish you the best of luck trying to find it, since there's now almost 900 pages to this thread

In completely unrelated news, I went back to the DBC boards and found my first few threads! You can really tell that I was a 16 year-old kid at that point, haha.
EDIT: first thread link broke, don't know why try now

If you want to see how much of a n00000000bzorz I truly was back then, just look at the page overall and look at the posts I posted. And if you dare, keep clicking on "Prev." to see the other pages. I had to have been pretty annoying back in 2007, haha.

Oh man, I remember those games. I lost all motivation with Peachy, and the code for MMM was getting way too big and unmanageable. I tried a re-write but lost interest midway, because I noticed I lacked the experience to make a game that large.

The reason for Peachy: I don't know if you remember, but I was banned back then for supposedly having a second account going by the name "Waterdrop". I never talked about what officially happened, but it was so long ago I may as well.

It was in secondary school (school year 6), I had this best friend. He knew about my activity on TGC and he ended up making the troll account "The n00by". He told me about it and asked what he could do to troll some people. This was the first thread he created: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=125198&b=10

It was hilarious at the time. The n00by was banned shortly, but he ended up making a second account, "Waterdrop".

My friend then got this great idea to make Waterdrop claim people were stealing games Waterdrop had made. I thought it would be funny, so he started posting in zzz's "SoulHunter" thread about how zzz actually stole that game from him and that he was going to pay and stuff like that. He also started posting that kind of stuff in my Peachy thread, and I think even in Bazar's Dream thread.

It didn't last for long. Since he was posting from school, my IP obviously clashed with his, and both accounts were banned. Seeing as it was my first ban on the internet ever and that I was only 15 years old or so, it was pretty detrimental to me. It caused me to not want to work on any games any more. Of course I continued to make games but it killed my motivation for Peachy.

We're still best friends, though. I did bring it on myself so I didn't blame him for it.

Making games these days is nearly impossible due to time constraints. Have to focus on *cough* procrastinating *cough* I mean, study.

Oh wow, I do remember Waterdrop, and I assumed he was a little brother that had thought he had come up with the idea for Peachy, maybe while talking to you. I assumed that because my little brother at the time was accusing me of stealing his ideas for games I was trying to make, haha

Well, that solves one forum mystery I've always sort of wondered about. I hope the mods don't retroactively ban you because of withholding that info for so long

Seems you were a pretty okay noob. If we compare you to, say, zenicanin14...

Aaron Miller made the suggestion that perhaps it was my brother and most people agreed with that. I didn't say anything on the subject so I guess that was the generally accepted story.

I couldn't imagine the story getting me banned now, I did the time for it already.

Painful.

Quote: "Do you know when you uploaded it, and to what thread?"
Approximately one year ago, almost certainly in Geek Culture, and maybe in this thread. It was a FLAC recording of a MIDI I made, so it may have been posted in a similar music composition thread. There's also a chance that I didn't upload it here at all. This morning, I looked through about 20 pages of the Posting Competition from roughly a year ago, and sadly I found nothing. I will keep looking, and I have many more places to look. If all else fails, I can probably get my b0rk3d computer up and running, at least long enough to grab that file off the HDD.

Didn't you know? The internet does in fact "leak" into your computer. This is why if you have a computer connected to the internet, you must "flush" it out by either shutting down, or rebooting periodically.

Oh, I love looking through old threads. Brings back some good memories while also making me cringe in some cases.

I completely forgot about this...
Quote: "
Import Object '...sledge_hammer.x ...'
Control Input for Object sledge_hammer.x

If CTRL is pressed, swing object down Y"

and this...

Quote: "if I made a cube like the code suggests and wanted to place it on X, 100, Y 200, and Z 300 (basically I'm just messing around), do I need to type in the axis letter before the code, or what?"

Even for a 16 year old kid, that's some pretty poor grammar/wording of my intentions. I WAs kind of right in the theory behind swinging the hammer down, but I should have realized I could've just made an animation and not have to write such awful "CODEZ".

Why did I refer to everything as "codes"?

"I got dis code from da codebases lolz, wheres a code that does this with another code?"

OH GAWD I WAS SUCH A NOOB

EDIT: I have played around with the AppGameKit 2 demo, and I just LOVE how they chose to handle arrays!

I played around, just taking guesses, and came up with what looks like could be a fairly easy way to implement an "Action History" list, much like what's in Photoshop/GIMP. This will also make it incredibly easy to implement undo/redo in, say, a level editor

Holy cow, I got an undo/redo and history list to work in AppGameKit

DA CODEZ:

I might try to make a tutorial on this, once I verify that everything works out like it should. I can also think of a few better ways to copy the information over, I'm not sure I need three arrays - seems redundant!

But I figured this out, on my own, in less than a couple of hours in AppGameKit V2! I'm rather proud of myself, honestly.

I made a thread on my undo/redo list, if any of you all want to check it out

EDIT: lol haha, my ex who dumped me over a year ago just defriended me on facebook because I'm now in a relationship with somebody else, who actually appreciates for who I am and is a much nicer person.

God, she (the ex) was such a... well, you know what word I was going for.

Anyway, my undo/redo list works pretty well, I think I can refine it even more to save space. One way to improve it is to make the undo limit customizable, so that the user of the tile map editor can set it how they want. I set it to 15 just for testing purposes. it can easily be made to become infinite, but that might take up a lot of memory and slow things down, so probably not recommended.

Interesting question. I don't really like to label myself, although I do support the right of women to be treated as equals (except obviously they don't have male parts, etc.). If we're talking objectification, then I'm not sure really... those cosplayers wearing slutty costumes are basically asking to be objectified IMO, but that applies to both men and women. Otherwise, I don't think either gender should regard others as objects unless perhaps that's their intention.

I won't get the next points.

I'm ok with that, though.

Is anybody else having a hard time believing the allegations against Bill Cosby? You'd think with how many women are reporting about it he would've been busted long, long ago. I think a bunch of people are just trying to get their name out there by claiming he tried to assault them.

Latest woman is someone from Law & Order. It's crazy how many are "coming forward" about it. It just seems highly unlikely to me that he could get away with so many instances of the same crime without someone having filed police reports.
