Out of curiosity, what was the scripting command?

I named it "GhostEntity"... for obvious reasons, lol.

Takes a value range from 0-7. 0 turns the ghost effect off and all the others produce a variety of effects that seem to differ between entities and textures. The value I used for the hologram above was "4"... lol

Thanks, Styloo. It just used the PDA texture from the FPSC PDA model, lol. I actually did that with the hacking terminal as well.

Update:

There seems to be a problem with Building a game using my engine. Somewhere along the line, the code got messed up and now when I Build a game, it creates lightmaps for not ONLY static lights but for dynamic lights as well!!! This is very strange, because when I test the game, everything looks perfect. It only happens when I BUILD the game.

Extensive measures have been taken so far to attempt to resolve this issue. If anyone has a lead to help me get to bottom of this, please notify me at once. Thank you.

Is this an error due to your modification of the source?

Well, my mod doesn't result in an actual "error"... something weird is just happening with the building process that causes dynamic lights have lightmaps applied to them (except ONE dynamic light... which is even weirder).

i can't help with freaky light thing but loving the game,...lots of excellent and complex scripts here.

I wish it WAS something that I did wrong in the programming, guys.

Turns out that it was a known bug from long ago that got fixed somewhere in the V1.04 RC8 update. And unless I can get a hold of someone who knows how to fix it, I just may have to seriously degrade the value of this game, or go against EVERYTHING that I hold to be true and right in the world and drop out of the compo.

I finished designing Level 2 on paper. Sent them over to Ply. Thus, a considerable percentage of Level 2 should shoot up shortly. Some good news at least, eh, Ply?

Yes, if all goes well... we can make it for the compo.

If not..........

Well, bad news everyone, this is no longer a "PGPS Winter Contest" showcase thread.

Due to a last minute change in the rules, this project is no longer able to be considered "finished" or "playable" or even "polished".... that is until the newest source comes out and I find the motivation (which I find myself seriously lacking lately) to reimplement my modifications into it.

Sorry to everyone who was hoping to see this become a fruitful effort. But mainly, I'm sorry to Tom, for helping me out with this and now he can't see it even enter the contest, let alone have a chance of winning.

If anyone is willing to test Level 1 (The only fully completed level), you can go here. Follow the installation directions, and if the .rar isn't corrupted (Which I've been having troubles with on this particular download) you should be able to test play it. Please note that it does use my own personal mod, and once correctly installed you'll be able to use it.

Simple answer for that one, cg.

FPSC causes more problems than it solves. When something gets fixed, something else breaks because of it. The source hasn't been my main enemy here, it's been many other factors that make it appear to be my number one enemy, but it really isn't.

Like I said, I've started on a new project, one where if something goes wrong I can only blame myself for it, and I won't be waiting on consistent updates to get rid of something that I didn't cause to happen.

Thank you for clearing that up Storm.

@CG:

It's a project that I have attempted before but lost all my work when my hardrive went down the tubes. That was about 4 years ago.

It's called "Cyber Wars: Infestation". It's going to be either an RTS or a TBS, I haven't decided on that just yet, but I'm leaning more towards RTS right now. I'll give a brief description of it:

In the age of computers no one is safe from viral attacks on their system. You play as an advanced AI (Anti-Virus, if you will) that has been given the task to defend systems from such attacks. The entire system during gameplay is set up like a circuit board. There are components on this board just like normal circuits, but they all play their own vital role in the game. You start out with nothing more than a CPU, which is your main base of operation. In there you can compile programs to help you defend the system, download upgrades to your current programs, or (unlike real life) you can construct NEW components on the board within your area of "corruption".

I say "corruption", because in essense you ARE corrupting the system to bring it under your control and keep it safe from the virus AI.

That's all I'm going to say for now... there's just too much to get into, and this isn't exactly the thread to be talking about it in.

When I make a showcase/WIP thread for this, perhaps I will supply a link in this thread... that is, if anyone would like that.

Well, for one thing... I did have many scientist characters behind bulletproof glass observing you while you're going through the course, so the player shouldn't feel completely alone.

For another thing... this project has been discontinued.

I appreciate the feedback, it would have helped while I was working on this.
