You can go to page 4 after you open the first page of the topic, there are links to the pages at the top of the page above the messages. I guess the feature to have page numbers after the topic name on the page with all the topics was not wanted/written.

yellow you shouldn't apologise you did nothing wrong ... it is Misanthrope who appears to have the major problem.
And there is alot that could be misunderstood about what Mis is actually saying.

If the views were actually put across in a way which was as views then none of this crap would've even started.
But a few people have to quite loudly and objectively push against things ... look at what Mis has said between here and Randi's post you can see that he just ain't keeping with the same points.

Firstly he says there are obvious flaws with x,y & z but then he goes onto say that how the model has been shown you cannnot make accurate comments on it ... but he is still stuck to his guns about what he thinks is wrong about it and not just what would be something good to look at perhaps change, no the way he has mentioned the work it he is saying it is just flat out wrong.

Everything that is really being said at the moment is getting more and more hypocritical and off the entire point of the thread, with little to no mention about the actual structure of the mesh itself which is my actual area of expertise as i'm not a texture artist but people still commented on about how the texture is wrong, some of which who have gone onto mention they don't comment on a model unless they give a way to fixx it - i've seen alot of "this is wrong" kinda comment, but no comments that are like "i don't think this looks quite right, perhaps if you made the face with more definition along the side ... just fixx the UV Mapping on the edge which is apparently out."

But NOTHING, just more bull about how this is not professional work because this is what you expect from someone making some work as a favour for a member inbetween alot of other things meaning this model in total had something like 2-3hr including texture & rigging of REAL work done on it ... i'm not saying how long the model & texture took overall bucause i was coding up my Bg compiler and whilst i was recompiling i'd do a little more work get distracted by CN ... etc...
all have made out like i was actually even bothering to do alot of work, putting in a real effort when really i concentrated on this about as much as i would on a bag of chrisps when i'm eating it.

I did NO concept sketchs, i did NO research, i just dived in and tried to get it looking roughly right for what it was for ... the end result is something that can really any of you honestly say you could produce even a similar level of work with the same polycount?

I have a feeling that only Simple would be the only one would would be able to actually answer yes to that.

I pride myself that i don't kill...

This last post of yours Raven boils everything in the pot.

If people would just read that I think they might reconsider on some of the things they've said, well maybe they won't take there words back, but this thread will come to a close.

What we have here is a failure to communicate, Raven.

I still think your model has the flaws I mentioned. These flaws are just glaringly obvious because that's what the eye is drawn towards in a dull, static, and lifeless render. I've said several times that flaws are often overlooked when a model is viewed in its proper context. Show that zombie lurching through a graveyard sporadically illuminated by lightning flashes, and I can guarantee you you'd have received less than 5% of the unkind feedback you've gotten so far. Perhaps not even that much.

Show the same model standing at rigid attention against an incredibly bland and featureless background, and there's simply nothing to look at except the model itself...and the human eye searches for remarkable features all on its own. Naturally it'd be drawn to the flaws as well as the good qualities.

My statements on how I would ideally present a model intended for use with DarkBasic aren't hypocritical, nor am I skipping around random tracks like a bockety phonograph. It's simply the truth that models viewed within their proper context are more often better-received than when presented as a dull and lifeless static shot.

...and applicable in real life too, that's why most skin magazines like Playboy, Hustler, et al. have a staff of photo retouchers who lovingly cover up every blemish and imperfection on the photos with airbrushes. Cellulite and varicose veins are far more common in that business than most would think.

You're not going to notice those blemishes and whatnot during a skin flick what with all the action going on, but when you have a two-page close up shot of somebody's pudendum on page 33...you ARE going to notice those flaws.

By the way, Yellow: No real harm done, and I appreciate the unnecessary apology for what it's worth.

I just readed that Raven worked for "Some Company´s "(?), Like IE etc?

Some information you might want to know :

Raven was an active member in the 3D GameStudio comunity, After some time he was accused to be a WAREZ-User, his answer was, That he just Fomate his computer again in order to install the demo again and have (AGAIN) 30 days of time, Because his parents didnt want to buy him the programm.

in his profile it said that he is 15 years old, also he did say it in some post.
That is also why i wonder that he have photoshop 7 and max 5, Because if he CANT even give 199$ for the commercial edition of a5 then how can he give more then 5.000$ for other programms.
(And please, dont tell me your dad works for the Unreal Company

That is the biggest load of bollocks i've heard in my life...
i believe you have me confused with someone else and i'd strongly suggest you stop harrassing me.

Quote: "Raven was an active member in the 3D GameStudio comunity, After some time he was accused to be a WAREZ-User"

i don't even know the website for 3DGameStudio, much less used a demonstration, been on the forums or been accused of anything.

Quote: "That he just Fomate his computer again in order to install the demo again and have (AGAIN) 30 days of time, Because his parents didnt want to buy him the programm."

As my parents haven't been in the same room as each other for over 8years, it would be some feat for both to have told me this.

Quote: "in his profile it said that he is 15 years old, also he did say it in some post."

you need your eyes checked mate

Quote: "That is also why i wonder that he have photoshop 7 and max 5, Because if he CANT even give 199$ for the commercial edition of a5 then how can he give more then 5.000$ for other programms"

perhaps because i've never touched GameStudio, nor do i ever intend to...

have fun trying to pin some false claims onto me, i'm as clean as a whistle mate.

Crowley:

I think Raven's quite a bit older than 15. And the information you posted is quite irrelevant and mean-spirited, regardless of whether or not there's any truth in those allegations.

Tip for future reference: Just because you have a hard-on for Raven and he just happens to be engaged in debate with someone else doesn't mean the people on the other end of the debate are necessarily interested in whatever crazy tabloid drama you feel like injecting into the thread.

By the way, I've seen a LOT of people online going by the name "Raven" or some variation thereof. It may amaze you to discover that there is a good possibility they all may actually be different people.

I really don't think the Raven here is the same Raven you're trying to slander either.

No joke, if you did any research at all you'ld know that Raven even posted his pic before. All I can say is I've never seen any 15 yr olds that look like that, nor have I seen any post were anyone said he was 15.

Handing out mints and making cups of tea in my gimp mask of course!. Hehe, anyone fancy making a few gimp smilies! - I need one with a red pool ball in his mouth.

I wonder how many gay users DB has... must be a few at least statistically speaking. Although I've never known a homosexual who uses a PC for anything like programming.

Seriously on that matter I have to say that most programmers I know outside this place are in fact gay.

Just because they're virgins, does not make them gay - maybe the word is Asexual, or Heterophobic maybe.

I don't know any gay programmers, in fact - outside of this place, I only know 1 other programmer, and he's not gay - so 100% of all programmers I know are not gay!.

Crowley, you excruciatingly stupid idiot, that doesn't sound like Raven at all. You're showing us a pig and trying to convince us it's a sheep.

For starters, Raven's usually a lot more lucid than that when posting. "VPrime" is almost as bad as you are at spelling, grammar, and expression of thought. Yeah, Raven has trouble with "okay", "fix", and "easy", but VPrime has trouble spelling 90% of the dictionary.

Raven's also dabbled in various coding endeavors that appear to be of a more technically demanding level than the scripting language in A5, and therefore he really doesn't seem the type to bleat "hl3p! h3lp! 3y3 5uXx0r 4t 5kr1pTz0rin6! 3y3 61v3 j00 |V|0d3Lz, j00 61v3 m3 d4 k0d3z!"

Raven may also be hardheaded and insufferable at times, but you're just being really petty and cheap with all the dishonest manure slinging you're doing, Crowley. What are you, his pet stalker? Give it a rest already, we pick on him enough.

Hmm...ya, little jump to conlusion we are...Raven isn't vegeta2k1 or that other Vprime...first of all, if you look at modeling techniques: Raven is able to keep a balance of perportion, and the way he sets up up his models are differnt then the way Vprime does. Another thing, Vprime's modeling is sloppy at times, and has an over abundence of useless polys...Raven's models are kept at minimum, with still great detail.

It's all in the polys!

2-Look now at Raven
3-I asked one time Vprime, why the hell he write like an idiot, eating some words IF he is a native english speaker, his answer was, he type fast cause he didnt have many times at the moment.
Now, when i asked him why......................

I will not bother anymore writting.

I dont care what you think, he is a lammer and basta.

-Crowley, you excruciatingly stupid idiot
Dont speak about your mom that way, you need to lern some manners

Yeah, keep thinking what you think !
Anyway, why do i bother myself with sh.. like that(?) (ask to himself)

Crowley I would strongly suggest that you look up on this forum first who the members are ...

How you can compare my modeling skills to V-Primes/Vegeta2k or whatever the hell he is going by these days, well quite frankly that is a deep insult in itself.
Also look at the context of my posts, do i even sound remotely like that adolesent?
You think that somehow i enjoy using that stupid kiddie language "leet" which so many teens and college kids think is so cool because its english but its different - which quite frankly is sad, if they want to use a different language there are 182 languages including varieties worldwide, they should actually learn a REAL sodding language.

Add ontop of this V-Prime might be a native English, however I AM NOT... although i consider England my home and i am recognised as a British Citizen - I AM NOT ENGLISH nor is it my primary language.

Add to this I believe there is a member here BY the name of V-Prime, why don't you go bother him for a while. I was actually Banned not that long after he joined RealGameTools, so if I was he then why exactly would I not just be using another name like "Raven" over at RGT instead of staying off of it?

If you do not apologise for your accusations i will ask Rich to ban you for Harrassment. Then you can go onto RGT and bother the REAL person you have a problem with.

I'm surprised you guys understood so much of Crawly's posts - damn he needs to fix that English. It's hard to take a post seriously when it has a mom joke halfway through! - what is this, 1993!.

Yeah, Van. I didn't want to dignify that mommy crack with a response, lol...

On the other hand, it's wonderful to see the community spirit in how we go from arguing viciously with Raven to flaming Crawly into a crisp for his cheap shots at Raven. Stuff like that makes me feel good about the human race as a whole.

Or is it simply an extension of the old "Yeah, So-and-so is a bastard, but he's OUR bastard!" truism?

Ack, 4AM is not a good time to philosophize.

Yeah! - I think that's it!

I reckon it all depends on contribution, people who contribute to the community are given more respect than those that don't, regardless of personal feeling towards them. If Crawly posted something other than garbage now and again, people might regard him as more than a trolling wannabe with a crush on Raven.

2043 views in just a few days!!! Raven is a populay guy!
Well if Raven is V-Prime then the mad sloppy spelling would be a good cover up. V-Prime doesn't make many long posts though, and I doubt that Raven could resist the temptation to make long posts. If somebody has enough time on their hands they could go and check all the times of the posts, and see if any of them have been written at the same time as each other, not forgetting the American Time Zone. Raven is on RGT somewhere. Even Raven says that he has an RGT account under a psudonym(SP?).

wouldn't prove much, i have a good few post around here at almost identical times (this forum prevents posts within 5seconds of each other, i have tried before)

and although yeah i still have AN active account on RGT, actually calling it active is really stretching the words meaning to its utter limits as i've not used the account fo anything more than a quick popin every now and then - i don't post anything on it really. think i've given 2-3 snippets of code with nothing bar snippets in the rawest form so noone would recognise my code.
To me RGT is like that Shades, you go in there to do what you must and get out without anyone seeing you else you know something will try to kill you.

you know what is it exactly which attracts these weirdos towards me?
so weird, its only this forum too lol - the amount of accusations against me i've had since i started at apollo, i'm surprised the newletter doesn't have a gutter section just for the lastest Raven scandal lol

atleast i'm a forum asset thou hehee, just think of how many hits per day this site would loose without me here to shake it all up hehee

I pride myself that i don't kill...
well not without a good reason
