Cash, before I UV map the pirate (yes, I know, I havent UV mapped him yet... really sorry I've been taking so long), I want to email you him so you can do a test rig and take a one-over on the mesh to check things out. If there are any problems or changes you want made you can email me back with the info.

Should I email you at the address specified in your profile?

Also, the pirate is now at 1562 polygons.

cash.curtis@gmail.com is the right e-mail address, just send it there and I'll make sure everything is okay.

1562 polygons is perfectly wonderful

Cash, did you get my email? I sent it about 2-3 days ago, but it's out of date now, because I've finished the model. Just have to uv map it and texture it. Unless you want me to send you it, so you can test rig it like Ruccus asked?

Sorry, I've been busy with Christmas and what not the past couple days, I haven't gotten much done. The model looked good, you can go ahead and send it for a test rig.

Cash, shall I go ahead and UV map the jester, or do you want it editing some more?

Gotta give him more time Higgins, Christmas just passed, now its New Years, plus him and Alquerian have been working really hard on programming tools for Geisha House.

So its been around a month now... any word on the model status Cash? I'm going to texture it soon either way as I need it for my portfolio for college, but if there are any changes you feel it needs you'll have to tell me soon as I probably wont have time to change the topology and re-uvmap and texture the entire thing again.

Okay, I'm sorry guys, it's been forever. First Christmas, then I got involved with a contract programming job. That's finished, so I'll have those models rigged in the next couple of days. I'd started before Christmas and I actually rigged the pirate completely, but I rigged it backwards of all stupid things The backwards animations look promising though. I'd say go ahead and texture it while I'm rigging.

Lookin good Ruccus. I think his shoulders seem a little too "slouchy" per say- the clavicle's look like they end early or something- or there is a complete lack of muscle mass in the deltoid. The waist line 'feels' a bit low, could be because of the tubby belly, and I feel as if the crotch could be a little higher. On the non-zbrush renders, the topography above the knee seems to be inset, rather than arching out as your thigh would, especially on a man whos storing some extra weight in the torso. You did a good job cleaning up the geometry since you started, however you might benefit if you could get rid of some of the poles on the upper bicep/lower deltoids, as the model seems to be triangulating strangely or just rendering odd in DBP.

Keep it up, nice work

[edit] WHOOPS realized I was reading the first page...anyhow yeah... that was directed at the pirate model

@Cash - I have a couple crates and barrels you could use, these two are normal/specular mapped (can easily remove the decals on any of these objects, as they are all jokes ) Crate needs massive normal/specular map work, whipped it up like 1 hour before class Barrel still needs a bit of work too but thats more completed.

and this one I did earlier, no normal/specular map but I could whip one up in a jiffy if need be...

Anyhoo sleep time, class in 5 hrs

I've begun modeling a new character for my portfolio, more cartoonish. I'll finish the pirate when you get back to me with the animation info, its no prob. Thanks for the crit John, I've seen some of your tutorials so I know you know what you're talking about . I'll tweak the knee caps and arms after Cash lets me know how things go, as it shouldn't effect animation that much. The kneecaps aren't inset but I see what you mean, they do kind of look like that, and the arms do look a little too short, especially the for-arms. I'll work on it.

> < I envy you John, you're already in college. Im having so much trouble picking the right one, a lot of them are just graphic institutes that just want to take your money and teach you the basics. Im thinking of going to Sheridan up north in Canada as I here Pixar goes there first for new recruits.

Okay, I'm back in business, as much can be expected Sorry I've been so slow to get this done, it's been obscenely long. I've just been so busy.

The jester is rigged and works like a dream. I e-mailed the .x model to you Higgins. Those won't be his actual animations, I'll have some more specific for him, but it was just a test rig.

Ruccus, the pirate is next!

@John H -
Yeah, I'd love to have them, they'd make nice additions to GH

Okay, the pirate is done. He was a bit more of a challenge to complete. The main things were his upper body proportions. I moved some vertices around and that pretty much did the trick, except for his shoulders. The skeleton I used had narrower shoulders, which caused his shoulders to shrink in a bit.

No matter the details, he looks good. Great model Ruccus Btw, I haven't added a bone yet for his cape, so it just kind of sticks to his legs. I emailed you a copy.
