Does anyone out there have any good CHARACTER Textures? If not, do you know how to create really good ones? I REALLY need character textures...

you wont find any usfal character textures on google. characters are usaly uv mapped, uv maps only look correct when aplyed to the modal thay were painted for. unless you can modal a character with almost identical geometry to the origanal

sertch for uv mapping tutorials

@Omega -
You're going to have to buckle down and do it yourself. Google has everything you need.

For example, I wanted to put Dark Matter 2 models in my game, but the textures are tiny, cartoonishly boring, and terrible.

Here's what they look like...

Well, I wanted good textures and normal maps for my characters. What did I do? I exported the UV maps that they already had come with, I searched Google for different materials that I could apply to the textures, and this is how it turned out...

It's a lot of work and nobody will work on your project when they can just work on their own.

Come see the WIP!

Here's a good intro link, and this is pretty good as well, and you could try this one too.

Hope that helped, I'm a blender user myself and I'm glad to see someone who doesn't take one look at the GUI and decide to pirate Maya.

The current version of blender makes it alot easier to UV map, I like to bounce back and forth between Gimp and Blender so i can see what my attempts look like while I'm doing them. I do the UV unwrap first, then take a full screen capture of the UV edit window and use that to start texturing on in gimp. Its a start, i'm a Noob at UV texturing also.
