Is there a free terrain editor available? If not whats a cheap one thats gets the basics done(texturing and basic hill making (I think its called hight mapping. I dont know)?\:-|

You could try WORLD.

I have downloaded it but have not had time to try it much.
Looks awesome tough.

Another way is to create your own!

Try Van B's TerSculpt editor. Its really good and, as far as I know, open source.
