Notice: Title will change to somthing a little more, unique

Ok, this is my first WIP! It's a racing game mostly based of Mario Cart and CTR(Crash Team Racing)

Main Menu
Cart Select Menu
Level Select Menu
Basic Game Elements
Basic Level Editor
Power-Ups
Drivers
Time Attack
Single Race
Weather Effects
Advanced Conrols(Power Slides, ect.)

Thats all I can think of for now.

Anyway somthing I want to do with this game that can only be done with your help is I want to use characters from your games as drivers! I really like the idea of have characters from the TGC community as characters in games(TGC Heros) and since I will need alot of drivers for my game I thought it would be a cool idea to do the same sort of thing as TGC Heros. All you need to do is tell me you want your character in the game, if I aprove of it you will need to send me some reference material to make a 3D model of it(Screenshots, images, ect.), and I will make the model and put it in the game. No work from you all I ask is you let me put your characters in the game.

Anybody up to it?

Wow, DB PROgrammer, this is amazing. Its beyond what I expect when I see a new WIP. Truely, well done, and please, keep it up - it looks very fun

EDIT (after viewing the rain demo):
Thats pretty cool too (once I closed it, I said aloud, "That's well pro")

This game really does look like it could be a big hit

P.S. Are you using a particle shower for the rain effect?

You don't know how much that just made my day! Thanks both of you! I am using 300 texture plains random position in the sky that move down at a random(witin limits) but constant speed until it hits the ground(0 for now) and then is repositioned and given a different speed value. BTW i'd love to use your Vision robot if I could?

Though I agree with cowbox, that vent does look a little similar to the ones in vision, not that I'm complaining, it's good to see fans getting inspiration and ideas.

Wow nice job! I looked at the sewer screenshot and it reminded me of Crash Team Racing. Then upon scrolling up to the first post I noticed that that played a part in what you were basing the game off of.

Good job on that, I like it

I was just making a vent, but having seen yours may have subconsciously effected how it looked.

Progress Report:

I just finished Power Sliding(Thanks to Van B) it seems to work very well. I am also almost done with time attack mode. I would like to create a video to show you guys when i'm done but I have no way to record it. BTW I still need more drivers

And you should record in Fraps or Hypercam (except Hypercam is really laggy)

Hi. I don't have any games yet as I'm still learning the ins and outs of 3d programming (been working in 2d till DBPro).

But I do have an awsome character you could use. Of course, he's also the character I intend to make my dream game(not with DBP, but when I can actually properly get a development team together some year). So, my simple question before I let you use it is...will my character still be licensed/copyrighted/credited to me? If so, have at it! I'll even upload my current model(unanimated, in .DBO format, though I can give you the 3ds file if you really want it(I think not )).

With the look of the game, I think he might fit well. Here, have a screenshot of him.



Maybe if I see him in a game, it'll inspire me to animate him.

This is what bothers me, I like the character but if it's not started and it won't even be a DBP game then I can't really see how I could allow it since this is really for characters from the TGC forums. Does anyone have an opinon on this?

Since i'm guessing this is on alot of peoples minds, yes all you are doing is allowing me to use it in the game and anything related to the game such as sigs, movies, ect. It's still your character.

I can't copyright the robot in Vision, because well... it has no name, therefore it is just a prop/model (that you control) xD

He will be in DBPro, just not in my dream game(even the awsome DBPro wouldn't be able to handle that one...it's on paper right now, and grows each month or so as I think up new things/interactions to add to the world.), but he'll be the character I use for most of my DBPro "smaller game" projects. Think of him as my "mascot character", like how everything from nintendo's Mario team manages to have mario in it, even things like picross that have nothing to do with the original game.

Of course, I don't have any released or really far yet...and it'll be a few months at least(who knows, I'm learning as I go) before his first little game is out(A remake of one of my old 2d platformers with 3d graphics).

Oh bother. Maybe he'll join you all in a sequel or something. Or you could just say he's from the future of DB developers.

Odd, I thought I mentioned his name. Must have edited it out. Anyway, the little yellow guy with the red feet up there is called "Happy".

Small update, my game is now includes code so it will work with elevation for hills, ramps, and jumps. Of course this broke alot of things like the checkpoint system but it should be an easy fix.

Thanks! I don't know about the bannana, who is the creator? I don't think I could just stick him in without the creators consent, I also want to use just TGC characters although this isn't looking like an option so far, I think i'll have to release a demo before people really would let me use their characters but that makes sense.
