@bkinsman: Check the manufacturer of your router for instructions on how to reset the chip to factory defaults. For example, my Linksys router resets to the factory Username/Password defaults if you unplug it for 24 hours.

The kind that crashes your PC when you try and open the settings for it and lets you join FPSC games, but not host.

Hi,

I'm new to the whole MP thing, but if anyone can figure a time to play over the internet, post it! I am not great at the game, but I would really like to play MP with you guys.

@bkinsman: Where did the IP Address under "Internal Host" come from? Did you type it in or was it automatically assigned? That's your PC's loopback IP, not your Internal IP used for forwarding. If you watch the video (link at the bottom) in the first post of this thread, you'll see how to determine your Internal IP address.

I just read over the guide. It was well written - but I still have a problem.
- I identified our IP addresses.
- In the router I put down the computer to be the host, and used its IP address (192.168.0.102) with the port as 2303.
- When I open and say HOST a game, it indicates that my IP address is the IP address that our cable internet service gives the entire house (a 70.XXX.XXX.XXX number). When I open the game on any other computer, it says that it has the IDENTICAL 70.XXX.XXX.XXX address. However, if I go to Local area network, each computer has a sequential number of 192.168.0.XXX number.
- My son just made this game at a computer school and it ran there. I'm sure that there is something trivial and obvious I have wrong on the ROUTER settings. However, I just spend TWELVE HOURS on it.
- I tried to just use a switch box (no router) to connect two computers - but then I couldn't load the program even though the two computers could see each other.

He came home yesterday and has been climbing the walls to show us the game he just created. Could someone please offer advice?

Thanks.

you should warn people that forwarding people can easily accept hackers and accidentle downloads

I don't use a router and I unblock my firewall and my and my brother still can't play online. It says Waiting to join... What do I do?

We are both wired and have the same IP Address if that helps.
