I`m just testing the water to see if any one wonts to do this type of thing?

be`cos a lot of people have ask me about starting community baste projects.

so I guess what I`m asking is do they or don`t they work?

if a lot of people post about this, I may or may not do a community baste project after my physic & ai challenge is done.

soul sucking devils, twisted body of the damed, slivering slim drips from ever poor, sin licking at your ears, and the smell stinging your eyes, and if you don't like it, get out of my kitchen!....

They generally don't. It really depends on who is in charge of it. If this person is extremely skilled and puts a lot of time into it they can get contributions from the community that will help them finish it earlier.

Most community based projects aren't run like this. Someone tries to organize the work of others and they themselves aren't capable of maintaining such a project.

It all comes down to how much time is put into it. You can't force people to work for free. It's slow work and people lose interest quickly if they don't see rapid progress being made. I suggest completing a significant part of the project before bringing it to the community for completion.

I would never join a project that you posted, though, simply because of your spelling and grammer. Nothing personal, but if someone can't spell well I expect that they aren't capable of leading such a project. While that could be wrong, it is my perception and it is impossible to argue with perception.

@ Cash Curtis II

well that makes sense I guess, as for my spelling and grammar, I am dyslexic so it can hold me back some times, but my coding is good and I have a good ideas and imagination.

I`m not only just good at programming I`m good at design, texture making, graphic layouts, concept art, music, story telling / scripts, game design, game concepts, and maths.

what type of thing are you good at?

I just ask be`cos I never see any of your work, but I do see you saying your peace.

not really, I get it most of the time being dyslexic, an it dose not bother me be`cos I have a height IQ which is 138, and I think that makes up for it.

Hey, I didn't mean to come across as harsh. I'm sorry that I did. It was only my intention to demonstrate an additional obstacle you'll face if you try to start a community project.

If you want to see some of my work then look at my thread history for the WIP and Program Announcement boards. I've got a few finished project available. I'm also working on Geisha House, click my sig or go to my webpage or go to http://www.youtube.com/cashcurtis

I'd make something to dazzle the community. Then people will help you, and it will be possible to complete it in a timely manner. I've gotten tons of help with Geisha House, but I don't run it in the conventional 'team project' manner.
