Hi to one and all,

I am trying to make a machinema film using FPSC and the thing that is stopping it working as I want it to at present is the low frame rate on transfer I'm getting in a fully stocked scene...

FRAPS slows down to a rate of 1!!!

I will try just taking direct recordings using an adaptor from the monitor port but is there a less drastic, software based, idea out there someone can share?

GameCam V2 also slows games down, and on Vista, it just crashes the games for not apparent reason. But to get the best quality without slowdowns, you definitly need to use a monitor adaptor to your Video Camera.

Yeah I know that but compared to Hypercam and FRAP's it works well. I swear there was a topic about this a while ago

The full version of fraps gives almost no lag at all. I can record garrysmod on 1600x1200 with very little lag.

Hope to see you ingame.

CamStudio's free, can record to various formats and even convert to SWF. You have the ability to choose how much you want the video and audio compressed.

CamStudio, I used that one. But got sick and tired of it forgetting frames or just looping frames every now and then.

I use Camstudio and it works pretty well. I've recorded some games/desktop tutorials for friends at 1920 x 1200 resolution and it gets it all.

I think its my PC not liking those things though, since when I still had my XP Computer, it did work.

Could a Moderator rename me to "Silvester"?(without the Quotes)

you should probably be using fraps to record, but with the full version. if you're not afraid of some slowdown, try snagit.

Heard of wondershare demo creator? Try that, it does not lag at all, instead it takes thousands of screenshots and puts them into the movie, and yes you can have sound.
Small guide for fraps:
Set fps to 29, then check the half-size check thingy.
You will notice a BIG fps increase.

Only in fpsc had a demo system like Warsow and Source engine, that'll be great.
