This will be a new FPSC character, I'm showing the WIP here until it's FPSC-ready and I can show it off over in the Models and Media forum.

Grotesque chainsaw wielding dude:

Chainsaw that he will carry:

Very nice Bond. (looks like he got burned)

Is that chainsaw going to be attached to him or will the player be able to pick it up after the kill?

I like the saw, and the bibs.
Looking forward to it.

It will have to be included as part of the model, yes. But I am going to be making the chainsaw into a player weapon as soon as this guy is done. So you could set it up to spawn the chainsaw weapon when he dies. Probably just have to add an ifused=chainsaw property to the characters fpe file, then add and activateifused to the characters destroy script to set up the chainsaw weapon to spawn after the character is dead and faded away. But shoot, why am I telling you this, you're the scripting guru.

Hey bond, I was just thinking that there might be not enough fat around the arms, because I don't know anyone who is overweight like that, and has such nicely toned arms.

He's wielding a Chainsaw which takes some strength. Pretty much he's Sloth from Goonies with the personality of Leatherface from Chainsaw Massacre.

Great Chainsaw Bond1. Love the detail that you put into it. Whats the poly count?

Glad someone noticed that! Sloth was one of the references I used as inspiration for the model. Basically this guy is a mixture of Sloth, and one of those burnt guys on the last level of Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Chainsaw polycount is about 1800 triangles, could've gone quite a bit lower, but I need some extra polys in there for a smooth chain animation as it spins around.

Looking awesome! I think the arms are ok, if he is swinging a chainsaw around all the time his arms are going to end up pretty strong and he probably doesn't do a whole lot of crunches.

Shame, we wouldn't be able to have too many of these guys hanging around our levels, probably 2 max.........

If you add the ability to use Airmod's PLRBLOCKING condition, then we could have it lift up it's chainsw, bring it down on you, and you have to keep blocking while being unable to move (PLRFREEZE and PLRDISABLE). When a timer progresses to a certain point, you can push him off and he staggers back and you lay into him, or he lays into you......

I dunno if you already had that idea, but mix that in with the usual psychotic chainsaw fight, and this would be awesome!

Love it bond, really great stuff! great job on the face texture, really love it. one comment would be that the fingers of the model look quite blocky.

also bond, whats the average cost for a custom human model with various accessories. just a average. for it made, texturered and animated.

The shoes look a little small. I guess it makes you more normal and less demigod if there are still errors.

...this is a very valid point. This fellow is a rather large guy.

Wouldn't he have larger feet, to keep him from falling on his face...oh...maybe that's how he got mangled, in the first place. (LOL)

You could always leave him just as he is, and call him Baby Foot...

This is a seriously menacing adversary, to be sure. Great work, as always, bond1...

Thanks for the comments so far. I've merged the chainsaw into the scene to prepare for rigging. Holding that chainsaw he is a sight to behold!

I'm heading back to my "day" job tomorrow, so it'll be a week before I can get to work on his animations. My task for today is to get him rigged and export some basic animation tests to make sure everything is going to work alright in FPSC. I've got all the chainsaw sound effects recorded, and they sound absolutely awesome, the sound of his chainsaw starting and revving will send chills up your spine!

I'm going to follow a similar formula as I did for the BOSS COMMANDO, I think I got some very professional results with that character. With a few surprises thrown in for this one. I'll also include a more generic melee version that will be more suitable as cannon fodder rather than a boss fight.

Remember FPSC users, summer is quickly drawing to a close, and the Halloween season will be here before you know it. There's a great selection of zombie/horror characters on the TGC Store now (shameless plug for myself), and there's no reason you couldn't make a decent little horror "shoot-em-up" in time for the Halloween season, and probably make a few bucks off of it. Wouldn't have to be anything epic, just a short casual game for the season. People love to eat that stuff up, and now there's plenty of quality game art to do it.

...man, this is just getting better and better.

Your work is top notch, and worthy of any kind of plug that it can garner, bond1.

The suggestion for Halloween seasonal games is a very good one. I'm hopeful that some are just around the corner...

I think I make a Halloween game, just because you said that. As long as you give me like 10 dollars so I can buy more of your characters!

I just absolutely adore FPS Creator, and I like the freedom to create things that I like. Some people like to poopoo FPSC, judging it based on what it does "out of the box", but there is so much unrealised potential with FPSC.

Plus, with the TGC Store now, it gives me a route to sell these "character systems" (as Lee likes to call them, sorry for the name drop), that includes custom animations, scripts, and sound effects that all work together. I can spend much more time on a single character, and make them do interesting things, and still reach a wide audience. I wouldn't be able to do this if I stuck to the old $19.99 model pack formula. Selling them individually like this I can let my freak flag fly.

Bond1 great work as usual. Are you going to have an animation with him starting up his chainsaw?

If you get mad and want to type something nasty about another person do this-Type what you want to say in the box then press ctrl-a and hit delete then type what you should say.

Oh yeah! Not only that, but when you succesfully dodge his attacks, sometimes his chainsaw will stall, and he'll frantically try and restart it before resuming his attacks. Other times when you dodge, he'll counterattack with a wild one-handed chainsaw swing.

Thanks Seth! I'm bursting at the seams with excitement to show you all what I've done so far...but I want the final result to be a surprise, it will have so much more impact that way. All my animation tests have worked - this guy is gonna blow you away!

I don't think you will have seen anything like this in ANY video game, at least not me.
