Er well obviously the models need to be in .x format and the texture files need to be in jpg/tga/dds formats. Read the newbies guide (link is in my sig) it will tell you where to get the exe that imports models into FPSC its somewhere in second section i think.

you can find them all over the web but make your own is the best thing

And making a game like crysis with FPSC is very far fetched so good luck

You can make good out door games but takes a long time

Good luck mate

Yeah a jungle map would be cool.

Make sure you implement the terrain in segments to ensure collision for enemies.

If Max 9 exports to the .x format, then yes you can use it. If it doesn't, then just download Blender or Truespace and use those to export to .x
Photoshop should be adequate for making images on X10 so long as yo can export to .dds/.png/.jpg, like Jason said. I believe you'd need the .dds plugin for photoshop though, at least so you can export to .dds and make normal maps.

To a certain extent your game could be like Crysis in that it's outdoor and all, but it can't be a flat out free-roaming game, and you couldn't have all the Crysis features, at least not yet. FPSC and X10 were designed for corridor shooters primarily, so there's no vehicle support or any of that right now (one of the mods allows it in X9 though). There was a video on youtube that showed a great outdoor X10 example howver. For hills and stuff, you'd need to make your own custom segments and entities...You'd also need to make trees and bushes and animate them and all that good stuff. So it's somewhat possible, but it'd be a lot of work, if you want it as detailed as Crysis at least.

Yea but i can make that in 3ds max, blender or can i create it in fpsc?

and u said fpsc had no vehicle support, but i guess i can use my programming skills there, even tho i have just used this program a couple of hours i still have skills in other programs so, fpsc compiles it etc, photoshop makes the graphic or textures, 3ds max makes the weapons, characters, effects.

so it will be my own game

I doubt you can. What you should do is just to find entities in the store, that look like a jungle and stuff. For example, I'm building a game where a level takes place in macchu picchu, so I have the grass, I've bought wall entities online, etc. Try it out! hth!

Oh yes, you can definitely use any 3d modeling program to make your custom segments. When creating them though,I'd recommend importing one of the existing ones so you have an idea of what size your segments would be.

For now however, unless you find a loophole or somehow script it in (which I doubt you can), you won't have vehicle support. The only way that I know of would be to edit the source code which hasn't been released yet. That's why some of the X9 mods allow it; they have access to the code. There might be some sort of loophole, but I can't think of what that might be...

Ok, i have created a weapon model in 3ds max, the format is .max, so how do i open the .max file exactly so it will be a entity in fpsc
and how do i convert .max files to the fpsc files if i need to?

i mean, if i must have a .x file format, how can i then use 3ds max 9 and how can i then import the .max file to .x file?

i need a great answer for this please

Also i am available for anything. I can do almost anything from web design to modeling only exception is animating which as of yet i have not got the hang of but im working on it. Want to know more send me an email examples of my web design work are icycolds website (designed by me) and plymod website (also designed by me) plymod website is not yet launched so you cant look at that yet.

Seriously, I would recommend AC3D, I find it to be while not the most pwerful, definitely the most easy to use. It's cheap, has a built in UV mapper and exports to .x also. I'm using it to build loads of models for the game I'm working on...

I don't know of any guides, but I'll take a look. Really, I just taught myself how to use it by taking a picture of something and trying to make a 3d model out of it.
You can try the demo here:
http://www.thegamecreators.com/?f=ac3d

AC3D is more expensive than some other modeling programs, but it's more than worth the price; making models with it is a breeze. The only downside is that it doesn't have any animation features.

On a side note though, there's this great new feature it has where you can take a grayscale image, and it will convert it into a 3d object, which would be great for making terrain.

Edit: Here's that feature in action with a random height map I pulled off the internet. I doubt you'd be able to make this into a segment directly 'cos it's too big, but you could probably import it into something like 3d world studio or something like that and then bring it into X10...
