Not fair! Why does FPSC have to be rated M? I'm only [mod edit]young[/mod edit]! Can't they make a more 'friendly' version so that us young'ns can have a chance at it without our parents punishing us for buying a M rated software. And even the Vista one! Who these days has such a good computer? My (future) PC can only handle 2.2 GHz and a GeForce 8600 GT (besides that, I'm fine). Or if I used this other refurbished PC from HP at frys.com (click here)... but still, some of us youth want to make FPS games ya know.

That's not very young...

and your parents won't let you buy it? Jeez, I'd convince them to let you buy it. I was playing half life when I was like 6, and look at me today! Seriously though, convince your parents that its not really that bad, AND you can shut off blood if you really want...

Lol, but that's because your parents couldn't tell that those red pixels are blood....

It's a shame, they should make an update of that game so it's as good as HL2.....

this is why: http://www.esrb.org/ratings/search.jsp
by the way, they probably WOULD get me FPSC X10, but my (future) pc can't handle the specs:

RAM: 2 GIGS (OK!)
GRAPHICS CARD: GeForce 8600 GT (Medium Performance)
HARD DRIVE SPACE: 320 GIGS (OK!)
PROCESSOR: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 (Not OK!) (2.2 GHZ)

See? My PC can't handle it. Besides, how many of your friends do you know even have a computer to handle the games you make?

I'm confused FPSC is rated M in America? The front of my box only has the PEGI rating on it and it says 12+...

If you go to www.fpscreator.com, at the bottom the product is contradicting itself. It says 12+ for PEGI and M for ESRB. ???
By the way, at ESRB.org, it said it was rated M for:
Intense Violence
Partial Nudity
Blood

Partial Nudity? You mean like... the guys face is showing or something?

I wouldn't say "intense violence"... that's more like the kinda violence on "Gladiator", but this is just shooting guys and all you see is them fall over and a little blood decal that isn't even remotely realistic looking.

fpsc is like THE most unrealistic fps game creator like ever, no offense to it, but it is, if your not allowed to buy this, then theres something seriously wrong.

dude if you really want a turkey sandwich, then make one, and make ham.sdaF?

@Frankie:

Well, his parents don't know that. So, to be fair, they're just playing it safe.

Some advice show your mum and dad this post let them ask questions if they must we will all help you get FPSC it is life changing program and your parents are robbing you of something great

Note to parents if reading there is NO nudity at all that gets you banned and as for violence it is about as bad as baby TV infact fpsc is made for the younger audience i would say most users are under18

Best of luck

It's called parenting, and it's something that is seriously needed in this world. I'm sorry you can't get it, but I applaud your parents for taking the time to check it out and make the decision.

Best.

I agree xplosys. Parents should always look out for their children..

Quake is the best FPS series to date, followed of course by Doom

I dunno, if game creation is really, really what you wanna do, then you have to tell your parents, I did that when I was like 9 and they did everything they could to make it possible. Plus their not over protective
EDIT: Says 12+

nobody seems to be answering his game related questions.
I have a low-mid spec laptop and im playing and making all my own games and some from these forums. I even played a couple from X10 so it all depends on the models and # of entities pretty much.

Here is some honest advice, I would suggest reading it.

FPSC is really not that bad I don't see a problem with you getting it BUT it's ultimately your parents decision. I would go to the website and tell them to download the free version and see for themselves if it is really that awful. If that doesn't work then fake a British accent and pretend to be from the UK (it is only rated 12+ in the UK), LOL. If they don't let you get it, accept their decision, wait a year or two and when most people have capable computers, purchase x10 and make some games. Good luck.
