Hello Guys!

First of all, Thank you Lord Einstein for coming up with such a cool idea! I thought the idea was fantastic, and I had to make my own game.

I did not use any code from Lord Einstein, I wrote this game from scratch, even though it basically has the same game play.

Circle Wars DBC - This video is rubbish

Downloads

If you don`t have Dark Basic Classic, Download the Exe. If you do, download the source, it`s a smaller download and runs faster in the DBC editor.

Cirlce Wars_Code.zip - 799.77 KB Download

Please post as much feedback as possible!

Very addictive. Good game play, although the turrets got annoying. I think if the AI didn't head for the player as often, and it was a race to being the biggest, it would be more fun.

The asteroids were annoying when they covered the screen.

The music jammed alot.

Well done overall.

Time is money. I just ripped you off.

Your game was too laggy for my computer to play, which is a shame because I love the concept.

Thanks for the feedback! I should have put this in the program announcements, because it is finished...

What do you mean with "the music jammed a lot"? It runs smoothly with me...

Definitely make the AI head for other circles, they always go for you and if they get you once, which they do easily, it's game over because there's no way to recover

The AI is programmed to head for the first circle that is smaller tha itself, which is the player... I will make it random.

A fancier name input system would be nice.

Ashingda made a good one back in the Challenge thread for the Menu Creator challenge.

Or you could just put some fancy images in, and use set cursor to place the input on the line.

I have trouble with inputting as well.

Very nice. My thing was ment to be kind of like the first cell level off spore but the space ship idea is kind of cool. You need to be able to turn faster, maybe you could make it when you got larger you turned more slowly. Overal realy nice 2D game.

Did you try the other stearing type? You can stear much faster(in the main menu or the pause menu.)

I will add that to.

TheComet, your version is pretty cool. But the rotation is too slow!! I got killed easily a lot because they were turning 90 degrees+ and I was barely even turning, running from them on the edge of the screen, hard to do anything. 0.o

Did you try the other steering type? You can steer much faster(in the main menu or the pause menu go down to "Steering type player 1 : up=move, left and right to steer" and press right arrow key to change to "Steering type Player 1 : up=up, left=left, right=right, down=down")

edit - <--- Can anyone tell me how I did that? It just appeared in my above post between the "The" and "Comet"...
