Been a while since the last one, by Strelok/Oleg, so..

You can only enter 1 entry!

You cannot enter something that you have released before the perimeters of the comp time.
All media that enters this comp will be commercial (and free) to all, so good luck!

Last time was low poly , today were going for urban stuff for FPSC.

This Months Theme is:
OUTDOOR URBAN STUFF!! Can range from dumpsters to statues to fences, as long as you stick to the rules your mind is your limit.

This months judges are:
-Pride
-RobertF

1) Use of poly's
2) Mapping (with such a big texture and such a complex model, it may be hard to map).
3) Artistic Merit (how good the texture is)
4) Originality (self explanatory).

Prizes:
There will hopefully be prizes for at least the 3 best entries. 1st place chooses any prize first. 2nd place choose on of the other prizes. 3rd place chooses the a prize out of whats left.

Prize list:
BVG Mega Pack
$20 US via Paypal
6 models by Strelok

You are free to post WIP's here.

Dead line is 23.59 on the 6th of March. (you have 2 months!)

Max poly count is 1000 and the texture size 1024*1024.

The comp starts as soon as you finish reading this! Good luck!

Yeah lol, had a few bugs with IE so restarted it before finishing editing Strelok's original post. Everything fixed, banner being added.

That's how I started this whole modelling thing, easy to use programs. They dont take much learning, and with those 3 programs you can create anything. You just need the skill.

Hey, I'll judge!

I also made a banner, just for kicks.

Lastly, I could offer a prize, if I can get my ass to do it. 20 custom 1024x1024 blood splatters sound to fit? It's a start, I guess.

I most certainly will Strelok, but can I have a small banner advertisement thing? (You could use a screen of some of your work, chopped up and bannerfied)

Plus, any news on you uploading that old PC model of yours? I REALLY liked that..

This is a basic model I'm working on: a fountain.

Not sure about texture yet, may be renaissance, may be modern

For inspiration, you could look at the Low Poly Coop's website/forum,

aswell as Half-Life 2 areas such as City 17 and Ravenholm.

It's very difficult to see and the mesh has not been cleaned up yet, but basically what I do is piece in the walls around the openings. Then, in this case since they will not be open, I use a wall or plane behind them to place the texture on. These will be metal doors and boarded windows.

I still have a lot of cleaning to do, especially removing back faces.

Best.

i might enter this one too and because i've got so long to enter it'll give a chance to learn how to model good

my idea for an entry an ice cream truck. I'll wait to enter till all the judges slots are filled, and there is at least 3 prizes.

Xplosys, are you stretching the UVs for the walls outside of the UV map.
I know this might sound very patronising, but you can tile a texture by stretching the UVs over a greater area than the 0-1 of the UV grid.

This means that your large entity can have a decent texture!

Butters, I don't get you. Is there somewhere I can see this or look it up?

Best.
