Can't wait for the demo, I'll give it a try, one question will the demo be fully functional with a time limit? The reason I ask is, I want to see if your programs are easy to use and get files over to FPSC easily. Example: I really like the Tree magic program, but it won't allow me to save the files, so I don't know if it will work in FPSC.

These are great Bullshock, and free updates to boot. I went nuts, and bought them all this morning.

Fantastic work my friend! Say, what's the ETA on the game creation system?

This works on Vista, right? Just curious, because my XP computer is way to slow to do anything.

Are you on vista? If your using vista people have told me that turning off compatibility mode and administrator mode fixes the problem.

If your on XP, open up the "settings.ini" in your default Character Creation System directory .

Make sure the first line of that path exists, if its not your FPSC directory, make it your FPSC directory(without a trailing slash). Then check the second line, and make sure that exists relative to your FPSC directory.

Let me know if that didn't fix your problem.

I think its worth mentioning that you will most likely have to adapt or create a custom script for any character using custom animations, because although the animations are there, the script tells the character when/what to animate. So if you export animations that DON'T line up with the character default animations, it may not come out right."

So, I guess your system creates the animations at the end of the fpe file instead of re-writing it.

I'm trying to decide on purchasing. But I'm still unclear on exactly what it does. What does this do that Signs or MagicFPS does not do for entities and segments?

@ cosmic prophet any any others experiencing crashing issues, can you please post here if those solutions worked? I want to make sure your product is working.

Quote: "So, I guess your system creates the animations at the end of the fpe file instead of re-writing it."

There is a default animations and custom animations checkbox, you can export one, the other, or both. Default exports default, custom exports the ones out add by hand.

Soon, just been pretty busy.

Quote: "What does this do that Signs or MagicFPS does not do for entities and segments?"

Im not very familiar with signs, but i cant say E.C.S. and S.C.S. does a lot more then magic FPS... they are built for advanced AND beginner users though, so those wishing to make quick segments can add a texture and export, for entities just a model and texture, and those wishing to make advanced segments can load their own wall models, and entities can be as complex as you want them.

E.C.S. allows you to open virtually any FPE and edit from that, and change almost any property, material, effect, script ETC.

In theory its the same concept, its just my programs are built with the beginner AND advanced user in mind.

Absolutely Awesome! My best regards to you Bullshock. Your a hard working, straight-up guy. Thank you for working with me, to get this working on my IMac. Your talent is only exceeded by your kindness.

This app rocks, I knocked out 4 of my new characters, and had them FPSC ready in minutes. Incredible!

All-in-all, one of the best purchases I've made this year.

@james
Ive emailed you back, I got everything working, but im not sure ive addressed your original problem, as i cant really figure out what it was.

@Pdidy,
no problem, sorry it had to happen in the first place.

@electric chihuahua
Ive sent out your details. Retexturing a character or entity is as simple as loading it, loading a new texture, and saving the new entity/character. Multiple textures aren't supported directly from the editor, but can be accomplished by editing a few things in the export files.

hi,

i have an error with the Segmenteditor.
Everytime i use a Cornermesh, i get these errors:

I tried this with the Stock Armory Meshes.
It works fine without userdefined corners.

What can be the reason?

@kutte128

Do you get those errors when loading the meshs? or saving the segment?

Corner meshs are one of the few things that didn't get tested very well (as most people, even testers don't usually find a need for them). Ive got a few more small errors to fix (that should have been in 1.1) but ill bump that to the top of the list, and hopefully get you a patch by the end of the weekend.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

If there is anything else you find a problem with, please let me know asap, I'm trying to work through everything and get this product as close to perfect as possible.

I cannot reproduce your issue, can you be more specific? Which program is crashing, mine or FPSC? when is it crashing? upon load or export?

Thanks

@BULLSHOCK 2

the Toolbox crashes at exporting the segment and then quits to desktop.
i will test some other meshes as the day progresses, maybe its a mesh-error.

Edit:
i tried some other meshes, they crashed to.
it crashes after exporting these 3 files:

test1_corner_a.DBO
test1_floor.x
test1_wall.x

all my files are .x files from stock. maybe it searches for corner_a.x but can only find a .dbo?

Can I make custom meshes and apply them to segments? in other words can I replace the default segment floor and wall mesh with a custom made mesh?

yes you can do that and heres some proof (attached screen look at the floor)
