@Leander:

We have already explained ourselves, there is no need to dicuss this further. If you cannot comprehend the reasons behind this even after reading what has been said, then if nothing else just accept it.

@Armageddon Games:

I don't how to make the instructions any clearer, but I'll try...

- Make a clean install of FPSC.
- Upgrade that clean install (which should be, right now, V1.00) to the official V1.15
- Extract the Project Blue v1.6 content directly into your "The Game Creators/FPS Creator" folder. When prompted, say yes to overwriting any duplicate files it encounters. (Make sure the "FPSC-Game.exe" file was overwritten by the Project Blue version. If it wasn't, then there's likely a Project Blue executable, which needs to be renamed to "FPSC-Game.exe")
- Installation complete. Use FPSC as you normally would.

That's it. You don't need to execute anything special, just use FPSC like you normally would.

If this doesn't work for you, please include details on what's happening that leads you to believe that PB isn't working.

@Ply

Took your advice again. I guess it's not possible, because it gave me an error when I tried it again:

This is when it was building the game, so I suppose your theory about loading cubemaps into memory was correct. It's a plain black 256*256 texture, so it can't be the actual cubemap...

If I was ever given the opportunity to remove all the bad from the world, I wouldn't, because for there to be heroism, compassion and all that is good, there must also be all that is bad.

Did you make sure that the file it's looking for actually existed?

Though, I could have sworn I coded that to ONLY try loading the image if the file existed.

I'm positive...

Yup, just checked, it's definitely there. If I replace it with the stock Cube texture, instead of the solid black 256*256 one, then it works just fine... :S

Delete the cube map file completely.. then make sure your camera image is set up to use the 3rd stage.

I am back from vacation and happy to see PB 1.6 final in my inbox.

It looks as if it solves the bugs I had but I have a new one now...

All my built games now act as if they were run as a quick level preview. The camera starts at the end of my levels, there are no animated sprites and no enemies. They work fine if I test them internally in FPSC though.

Have anyone else experienced this?

Running my latest game superbly on FPSC and Project Blue Mod.

I was getting the same problem as you a while ago, Jamie. I even tried desaturating the stock one, same problem.

Version 1.6 d fixed the build bug for me. I have found a Save/load bug however.

If I play a little, kill a guy and save after he has faded away then he will be back (lying dead) when I load. I also have trouble passing through the dynamic door entities featured in the Egyptian MP8. It seems to be the transparent color that is no longer in a pass-through mode for the player.

I noticed that as well Bibo...

Quote: "Delete the cube map file completely.. then make sure your camera image is set up to use the 3rd stage."

I did, and it used the illumination map...

And when I set it to the 5th stage, which is the cubemap on my edited BumpCubeRefIllSpec shader, the gun was invisible...

@Scurvy Lobster Save and load bugs are a problem with the source and not the mod as we not changed any of the features how the save and load works.

@Bibo4PC Something we have to look into when we start working on the project again.

Okay, I looked into the fog issue.

Here's the deal.

Fog wasn't working AT ALL when stock v1.15 was compiled. This is without any modifications, btw. The least we did was provide a small fix for it, so that the fog was at least semi-working. It's beyond me as to why it effects dynamic entities the way it does. The easiest way to work around that would be to use black fog.

To my recollection, it has been this way and the problem has been here since V1.07, which was around the time that the "fog fix" was implemented.

I have looked into fixing it completely before, but couldn't.. so there are two options here. Either we deal with the black dynamic entities in fog, or we remove the fix that we've installed and it goes back to the way it was when Lee handed it to us (no fog at all)

I don't want to sound like a complete unmentionable here, but problems caused by the source and not us are a bit of a touchy subject for me.

Great work with the updates guys. Overall things are running great for me

It does look as if I need to remove a lot of dynamic doorways and shaft from my game due to the save game bug making them impossible to pass after a load. But that is doable. I would love to see this fixed if it is possible.

I have another small might-be-a-bug relating to saved games. When overviewing your save games you see an in-game image. It looks like this image is oversized and only shows a portion due to some scaling that is set wrong.

Running my latest game superbly on FPSC and Project Blue Mod.

Precisely. It's only worth posting bugs if they are mod related, not stock fpsc. Check in the bug reports forum before posting bugs, here:

Dont forget Lee is soon going to release the exact same FPSC source code that he develops with and you will have access to the map editor source code!

@nomad soul: Sorry, i couldnt resist of quoting this:

Quote: "Dont forget Lee is soon going to release the exact same FPSC source code that he develops with and you will have access to the map editor source code!"

...and then this:

Quote: "...you should not wait for the map editor source before releasing it for people to start using. There is no indication the map editor source will be released anytime soon."

You can fix the fog by using you own custom made fog.

ETID: This will give you more possibilities, like you only have fog in the middle of screen or, only fog at the sides. At loads more.

Anyhow, good luck to you guys with whatever real life may bring, I hope it won't be anything too troublesome.

It's too bad I never really tried this mod out, the features seem really sweet!

Hey, the problem still persists of only one level being built. When i turn it back to the store version of FPSC I can build levels fine again. It is definately a problem with PB and not my FPSC
