Hey again, i originally started this 3 days ago, but all 5 saves of it had corrupt:S so i had to start again, this is a low poly m1 Carbine which i hope to get in fpsc, its currently at 800 polys so i have a lot of room to ad more, if you could give me some crit on what needs improving before i start the uv map i would be very grateful, thanks.

vast improvement. you really built on it didn;t you?

other than the stock, its seems quite clean. although i take it you need the poly density there to keep the shape? now you just need it animated

cheers cb

Thanks Lazerus, yeah the stock was a strange one, i could possibly get rid of a loop or so, just depends if the shape will look ok, does everything look right? Anything out of place? I am most concerned with the actual mechanism, not sure on the actual name for it other than the metal mechanical piece in the middle of the rifle Thanks.

Looks great, you should make a whole ww2 pack. I bet it could be an official model pack if you include some nice weapons with good animation.

Texture is VERy good, far better than I could do. Although, I am an ironsight nut, and I must say that your ironsights need work. They're just several stacked boxes.

Oh, and also, I would make the barrel a tad thicker.

@toasty, yes i realised that this would be an issue, but if i am correct, you need to versions for fpsc, one being the weapon and the other being a pickup, if this is so, i will add more detail to the iron sights, so dont worry Expect another update soon, i have started work on the texture now.

UPDATE : Started on the wood, not overly happy but ill keep going, as you can see at the very back of the butt, there is major stretching, simply because i forgot to uv map that one polygon which wont be a problem, still need to get rid of the seams but ill do that later, hope you enjoy!

The wood looks a bit werid, you should tone the opacity down a bit for those wood lines.

Well done

Maybe 5% less opacity and it will be perfect. If you use Photoshop, try some color burn or lighten color options or something like that

I think youv alreadyu stated but can you use a nutral color like grey in you renders please, Ive noticed it on mine too so am changing the reder styles. Had to turn on my other monitor to see the render lol,
great job looks imacualte and your very proficent at texturing.

just a thought.
try having the fella as a lefty just so we can see the firing mechaism, if you get it right in the animation. If not leave it as is and the side of the gun will cover it up.

cheers cb

You could, when he reloads have him turn the gun to the side so he can see what he's doing. And we get to see the firing mechanism

Im sorry for the dark renders, will fix that for you, also the plan was as HLD started, have him turn the gun to see what he is doing, but i could do both version?

The texture looks pretty good, I like the wood, but really, I think there is a certain lack of detail in the texture, as it really just seems to be a small grunge texture with some white edges on it.

@Darimc-Thanks man, i am trying to make a whole fpsc pack, but with more than guns, but they are the main aim for now.Thanks.

Hey guys, until i can animate it with bones efficiently i will be making the other weapons for a possible pack, so this is the early Thomson WIP, still needs a fair amount of work, and some smoothing for the stock, but here you are.
