WHAT?! Did I read that correctly?!

Well, at the moment, I'm working on having time to work on my game. It really is the hardest part of creating a game.

Swordfight! My cheesy little first game!

I was thinking of starting one of these in 3d chat about models, keep the sketchbook threads out the way and enables people to get quick feedback. I always liked those threads and wondered why we never had one in 3d chat.

If anyones interested i'll go make one.

trying to make phpmyadmin work for mac, which is proving way more difficult than it should be. Windows should really have the slogan "it just works" rather than mac.

I'm thinking after I read a few more messages on here getting back to Might and Magic 7. I'm in the middle of Clankers Laboratory trying to find some secret switch to get at the last of the bad guys in there (and some treasure I see on the map).

Code Wise: I'm working on a replacement program for non-profits that give food to the needy. It's a glorified people tracker that'll eventually do all the paperwork for me that takes me hours to do manually. I've gotten the time to do paperwork down from 8 hours to 2 to 3 hours... but I want it down to 10 mins.

About a billion things at once (a UK billion ). Trying to upload a video of my FPSC weapon to Youtube...also zipping the same weapon and uploading it to the GCS...updating my Heroscape script for Magic Set Editor...watching Family Feud...building a paper dice tower...posting...playing DOOM over and over again with only my fists...and trying to find time to work on Fields and my super-secret tactical FPS.

You might not see me for a week or so!

I'm currently programming my little platform/action/exploration/tower defence game. And so far, I've had the most productive week of programming ever

It never occurred to me that planning out exactly what tasks I need to do per day, and in what order, would help so much. Normally I just bumble around and decide what to do add/change as I see it/think of it, but scheduling it has rocketed productivity. I highly recommend it

Just finished working on a webcomic.... which was inspired by the game I'm currently working on. Next up, time to see if I can get past my 70k on Birds and Beans 2 for my Nintendo DSi...

In the beginning there was nothing. There'll be nothing in the end...

Crabs.

I am currently working on some short stories to send off to a magazine for publication...with any luck, the best short story featured gets £300, so it's worth trying.

Project-wise - Abeyance is being developed, a JRPG, it's over in Game Design Theory, I've been doing some of the design aspects and am working hard on the engine. I've designed the character and started modelling him (though you won't see that in the thread)

I've been swimming every morning for the past 4/5 weeks to lose weight...though only doing so slowly, I did 40 lengths yesterday, which is just over half of a mile.

I have been enjoying the nice weather for once, after all it's rare in Merry Old England.

I'm coming up with ideas for my dissertation, as well as articles ideas.

I'm certainly interested, although I'm not sure entirely of how many people would respond to the thread seeing as 3D Chat is pretty odd at times but it'd certainly be a welcome edition in my mind.

Personally I'm working on finishing up a lot of unfinished models, currently some old character, I got him fully modeled unwrapped and sculpt-ready. Did the sculpting and generated normals, simply because I didn't feel like retopologizing correctly I just kept the low poly. going to work on the texture very soon.

I have been enjoying reading what everyone has been doing ,anyone remember 'Father dowling mysteries?' that has to be the worst created idea ever..especially the episode where he suddenly gets an evil twin, and happens to be a mafia boss, but its the same actor who plays father dowling plays the exact same mafia brother, kinda like a 'the parent trap' type of show, ...*anyways* it was pathetic.......i mean IVE NEVER SEEN IT!!...

Right now I'm trying to finish up my RPG. I'm mostly just working with the item and level editor to finish all the content. I'm also trying to avoid making the next boss for as long as possible, because there is always so much new AI to program

I'm working on, yet another project I could have made into a WIP and wisely didn't because I keep stopping them. But this one is looking promising, just I haven't done anything in a while because I've been ill and it's all hot and sticky in south England at the moment, so I can't concentrate on anything.

But just so I don't feel like a complete failure, here's a compilation of pictures so far (the greener map is the test map, the beige map is the formation of Mission1):

It's actually Codeglue, a small studio in Rotterdam. They recently released Rocket Riot on XBLA.

I'm working on a karaoke game for the SingStar VIP room (not my dream assignment, but work experience is work experience ). As for PS3 development, I've only just started this week so I can't say anything authoritative about it. The PS3 Home devkit is quite cool though, I can write all my code in LUA script and just press F2 to refresh the game's scripts while Home is running. No compiling!

Yes, all those companies and professionals are just crybabies . That's probably why you PS3 guys still don't have Gran Turismo, it's not that the PS3 is hard to program for, it's just a little bit different and seasoned game development professionals are afraid of change. End sarcasm mode.

A lot of people say the PS3 is difficult to develop for, and I'm inclined to believe them, given the sheer lack of games for the PS3 after so long. Games sell systems, if Sony can't improve matters for developers then they are the ones who will suffer. Belligerence and arrogance are not good traits to be found in a console manufacturer - Sony need to open their doors vehemently just like MS did with XNA etc and they'd feel the benefit.

For me the 360 was the best dev kit to work on, with the PSP a second, the PS3 third and the Wii last. The Wii dev kit I used had 5 USB cables and a serial cable for debug messages! Many of us had to have USB hubs just to run the damn thing. Also the original Wii dev kits had black controllers with a wire attached to the system, but it still used batteries! Oh yah, and the controllers were prone to catching fire for some reason.

Originally you had to make sure you turn your PC off *before* turning on the dev kit otherwise you would surely fry your motherboard's USB ports. Good times!

Holy cow! I just pictured a bunch of Japanese guys sitting around a Wii with 5 fire extinguishers around them.

Ack there goes another controller (grabs the closest extinguisher).

I am working on my waypoint plug-in, as you can see in my sig. It is a real pain in the b**t, because unexpected errors always occur... I am also figuring out a work-around for light mapping in DBC(for TombStone), and Latch has written a tutorial and examples for that. After that is finished, I will continue my progress in TombStone.

Right now we have summer holidays, so I can but my full mind to my games.
