Well, it runs on mine .

I dont think I have any other rare games. Does Resident Evil 4 for the PC count? I think everyone else has burnt their copy.

That was probably around $70-80 USD at the time. Pricey for a game, but it was the very first game to top 1GB, so it had lots of hype.

Quote: "I'm curious what 3DO games you have. I also own that expensive black box. My favorite games would have to be Slayer, The Daedalus Encounter(though I could never get past the part where your comrades fall down the shaft and die...), Shockwave and Road Rash....good times..."

I have the original Panasonic 3DO, traded to a friend for my old TG16 (that didn't even work... hehe sucker).

My favourite is still Road Rash, and --- darn, I forget the name of it now--- but you can play as a chopper, a tank or a jeep and it's war-themed. Every time you complete a level you get the same FMV of old black and white footage of people cheering.

I also love that game Twisted for being so bad it's good. Haven't checked out the Daedalus Encounter but have always been meaning to pick it up. I remember reading that it had Tia Carrere and wanting to play it so much

I have about 30 games for the system and the library keeps growing from eBay purchases. I have a friend who has a 3DO and he has the entire "ROM" set, if you could even call them ROMs. There's no mod chip required, like the Dreamcast, and the games aren't even available anymore, but I still prefer to get the originals.

My collection games that I have for pc are rare in that they are either no longer available , or hard to find. In most cases you
they are a royal gem for their time.

civilization - call to power from activision. Cant be bought anymore. (still have the original cd and made enough play disks that I will be able to play it for another 10 years )

master of orion - still have the original dos disk.

Begin2 - a starship tactical simulation (I have 2 different versions of this. One was the official release, and the other was a slightly updated version )

free enterprise - I dont think you can find this game anymore either.

---Missle Might - Hero Battles - Zillipede --- which do you like the best ?

Well, I don't know if these would be considered rare, but I also got "Silent hill 2", "Silent Hill 3" and "Silent Hill 4".
They are selling quite expensive on amazon, $92, $75 and $56 respectively.
All for the PC.

Everything else is new and awesome PC games, however.

I have Quake 3 for mine. I downloaded the dreamcast map pack for my pc and i keep meaning to setup a modem-modem link between them to add the dreamcast to a q3 lan game. Surely this must have been the first console game that you could play alongside pc gamers ? The games now rarely even let you. (I don't have a dreamcast mouse though, only a keyboard )

I've got one of the gold cartridges for Zelda for the Nintendo 64. They were only available to people that pre-ordered it.

I have the holographic cart of Majora's Mask for the N64. Can't really remember how I got it but it looks pretty wicked.

And that picked it up on the first day it was released. If they pre-ordered it and didn't pick it up the first day they didn't get a gold one.

I have the holographic Majora's Mask too.

@ Jeku - The game you can't remember wasn't Silkworm was it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silkworm_(video_game)

Probably the rarest ones I have are Indianapolis 500 by Papyrus. Still boxed, with the manual. Alone in the Dark PC, as well boxed with manual. Also, I have Lemmings boxed back at my parents house, as well as the original Flight Simulator, and a few expansions for that. My dad loved Flight Sim games. Also, Air Power by Mindscape is pretty rare I think.

Hey I remember that game I had a lot of fun with that. There was something so cool about being cramped around a keyboard playing multiplayer games.

I have thousands of PS1 games that me and my brother recieved frequently when we where younger from my fathers friends at work, i have no idea where they came from but indeed half of them where converted japanese games and all of them reeked of piracy. But still it was good times, I even have a copy of biohazard that clearly was not released yet when the CD was made (really early looking version).

Biohazard 1 or 2? If 2, use Google to find out if it's biohazard 1.5, as people have been trying to find a copy of it for years.

Just yesterday I was checking out my cd collection, and came across many rare games:
Monty Python's Meaning of Life (pretty fun game, weird, but fun).
Monty Python's And the Holy Grail.
Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster.
Angel Devoid.
Tropico (this game is just awesome).
Fast Food Tycoon 2 (never got it to work, when I try to install it it comes up with a strange "redundancy" error).
Alfred Hitchcock's Final Cut.
Panzer General 2 (I remember how much time I spent with this game...).
Dracula: Last Sanctuary (Gotta love pure adventure games).
Grim Fandango (Pure Awesomeness).
Ultimate Leisure Suit Larry Collection (Every game, even the 7th one).
I had the original "Day of the Tentacle" on cd, but gave it away some time ago (ugh).

I decided to look through a set of my PS1 games after looking through this. well here is a list of some of the rare games I found with the prices I got from Amazon and IGN.

Star Wars Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire $51.58
Covert Ops:Nuclear Dawn PS $42.94
Skull Monkeys $35.00
Critical Depth $40.94
Blade $38.99
SlamScape $34.99

The Rarest one I have

Casper (developed by interplay and I can't even find a price for it)

Lol, I used to have Casper for PS1 but I lost it . Oh, I also have a game that beats the majority of rare games: Descent II: Destination Quartzon for PC (I think it's worth £60), yet it doesn't work on ME and above due to DOS setup , and it was one of the best games I had after Omega Boost and Armored Core. Although I believe that AC2 and Nexus are the rarest ones of the series I have , the AC games I have are:

Armored Core 2 (PS2) = £20
Armored Core: Nexus Special Edition with both Evolution and Revolution (PS2) = £30
Armored Core: Nine Breaker (PS2) = £10
Armored Core: Last Raven (worst one EVER, the new campaign and AI killed the game ) = regular PS2 game price

Now's that's someone that you would call a fan . But no, I wasn't a fan, I just liked AC.

Required Specs:
IBM and 100% compatibles 386 or higher
VGA Video Card
DOS 5.0 or Higher
2MB extended Memory Required
Single Speed CD Rom Drive or higher
Supports Sound Blaster and 100% Compatible sound Cards

Lol .

I think Descent 2: DQ needed these requirements:

Windows 95/98
64MB RAM
A 2MB Graphics Card
A DOS compatible CPU with 128MHz

Or, in other words, a toaster .

For the NES, I've still got my original gold Zelda cartridge and map that came with it! Still in good shape too! Got 'Conquest of the crystal palace, too. Don't know how rare it is, but I haven't ever seen it anywhere else. Also have some Qbert.

Quote: "The Daedalus Encounter"

I've got this for PC. As well as Quake, C&C, and Red Alert and some other old games.

I've also got around 50 snes games. From Chrono Trigger to Final Fantasy 3. Earthbound, Mario RPG, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Combat, Super R-Type, EVO, Lord of the Rings, Super Metroid, Secret of Mana, Ogre Battle, etc...

Maybe some are rare; I don't know. All I know is that I mowed countless yards in my youth to fuel my voracious appetite for SNES!

About a year ago someone at my former workplace gave me 2 boxes of consoles and games he had when he was a kid in Taiwan. There's the Famicom, Super Famicom, super scope, and a bunch of NES, SNES, and Sega CD games. He sold his house and said he was going to junk them thinking they were worthless. I offered him money but he just wanted to get rid of it so he gave it to me.

More PS1 games I own...

Space Griffon VF9. The first Mech type game I've ever played. I still think it's also the creepiest mech game I've played. Some people think it's boring because of the lack of music, but given the setting of the game I found it quite creepy...

The original Resident Evil game... starring the "Master of Unlocking" who almost becomes a "Jill Sandwich".

A-Train! An economic sim involving the railroad business!

Battle Arena Toshinden! Even better I still have that huge CD case that it came in (the size of a small book).

In the beginning there was nothing. There'll be nothing in the end...

I forgot that I took pics of the retro boxes my buddy gave me from Taiwan. There's tons of great stuff in there as you can see:

There's some kind of a dance pad folded up there just behind that bag.

These disks were for some disk drive in one of the machines. I have no idea if the disk games still work, but it's still nifty.

Damn I miss flicking through boxes of disks like that - I gave up with boxes on the ST, and got a 4x3 foot plastic bakers tray, added in separators and filled it with disks - damn relaxing just looking through them for something to play. In comparison, looking through a load of files is just nothing like the same - I have massive rom collections for the ST, NES, MAME and Spectrum - Maybe I should make a virtual emu front end... Make them find the game by flicking through game boxes, looking on shelves, boxes of badly labeled tapes. Recent games can just be lying on the floor around the consoles. When I play emulators, I usually have to know what I want to play before I even start - even trying to think of a game you liked can be tricky.

Van B,

I used to have so many ST games, and I know exactly what you mean. Nothing since has had the same satisfaction as the 3.5 inch floppy flipping. Damn that sounds naughty.

A virtual front end would actually be really cool. I'm sure alot of old school purists would love that. If you could add features like blowing in the disk drive when it's too dusty (using a mic)?

Oh and my rarest game is scrabble from 1864.

I want robotic legs.
