marc,

Sorry for just getting around to checking out this thread. Here is the new link for Umbra.

This is very interesting... kind of right up my alley. I might give it a shot too.

Brian.

EDIT: Please add HoleZ to your prize list for All Valid Entries if you wish. If you determine the entry to be valid, they get the prize.

This prize list is getting pretty good. The community is what keeps me playing with FPSC not the engine itself. You guys are awesome and I cant wait to see all your creations.

Yeah, all you show-offs, when you see my game, you're gonna wonder why you even tried the competition in the first place. I mean, once you see it, you're gonna think you're own game sucks.
Lol just joking, good luck to all of you, I'm seeing some good entries so far, mine is yet to be shown but I'm working on it alright. Good luck to you all.

That sounds scary. I'm not even kidding.

Imagine - one second you're living happily ever after with... 'Fluffy Puppywoofums' They come up to you and... uhm... give you 'Flower-Hugs of Loveblossoms'.

Then, the landscape you're in turns pitch black. You hear a horrid scream. Lights flicker on. In your face, you see the 'Fluffy Puppywoofums'.. except they have transformed into hideous creatures, attacking you with Hateblossoms. Will you find the cure to this horrid disease?

Find out in Fluffy Puppywoofums : Flower-Hugs of Loveblossoms'

Hmm...this competition is interesting enough that I might actually participate. Won't make any promises for now though in case I don't for whatever reason...

I showed this to my girlfriend (who helped make the first umbra) and she was so pleased! Cheers Marc, you basically made my day!

Goodluck to all entrants. I would love to enter, but it's been so long since I touched FPSC that I think it would just be embarrasssing!

Damn...another hole in my contest (hey, be kind, it's my first ). Please could all judges confirm that they are able to run FPSCX10 games (regardless of performance).

Butter fingers: Umbra is my favorite FPSC game, it has a really high replay value. It has inspired me to start work on my first proper project...though it's all confidential right now

I don't know shadow fire. I've always been a great believer that things that relate back to your childhood are often ultra scary. Like... what's scarier, a zombie, or a mother sewing a baby back together because the teddy played with it too hard and tore it in half.
God knows where that came from.
heebie jeebies.

So, I'm interested marc - if someone uses X10 are they marked up for using things like bloom and so on, because effectively bloom, water and all that stuff are STOCK media in x10!

Yep. If I didn't mark people up for these things, then I doubt anyone would use X10 due to the performance hit and lack of mods/scripting features. That's why I've given people the choice to choose their engine, so they can take take advantage of the features.

P.S. Butters, would you like to judge? You are clearly the Mind Tricks expert here

Count me out then. I can't run x10. If only you waited 2 years. By that time, I would have DX10

Good luck to everyone!

LOL. Some of my customers call me brain. They think it's funny so I laugh along with them.

I've got a nice level coming along. If I can get the images I want to work and anywhere near the audio that was in Umbra, it'll be a winner.

Well I am good for the x10 games so no worries there. Looks like the compo is going to be quite the success and with the games in WIP and stories on here judging is going to be the best part of the contest. I feel kinda sorry for you people that have to work so hard on making the games...lol.

I tried for funzies to make a game like Umbra but not sure I have the mind for that. I am a COD kinda guy so my "Brian" tends to stay on that path. Military fps games are my thang... I think I shall go play me some COD4 now actually.

Good luck to all.
