hi again,

well yesterday i bought z brush and, i am still getting used to it, i have found it very easy and fun to use. so i've decided to start a thread of the models i make, hope you like them and if you have any comments, crits, or even questions then feel free to say.

heres a creature i started this morning (however i did have a rather large break to play brutal legend )

so anyway here is the render, which i had to do print screen to get it, does anyone know how to export the renders as an image file so that i can show you all the detail? anyway here it is and it is still WIP.

Looks good for your first day. He couldn't really stand on those hooves at that angle though. Seems extra effort to include a hoof fix in the animation.

well thank you thats a rather nice comment.

i started this morning, mabey 30 minutes ago, i got the legs done and i have the model finished. unfortunately this image still doesn't show a lot of the details, like the veins on his legs, stomach and back. so again if anyone knows how to export these renders in their full form let me know, thanks.

well here it is, all i have to do now is texture it, but i think i'll leave that for when im a bit better, don't want to spend time doing something that may not work when i have a few more ideas for monsters and creatures.

okay i knew i said i wouldn't do any work on the texture but i couldn't help myself. so i just did some experimenting with colours and came up with this, this is a test so if i were to do it like this i would want your feedback before i did. so heres a test i did with the face, tell me what you think please.

Your proportions look awkward, like the creature would have a hard time balancing, and fitting in at school.

Yeah, the model itself looks amazing, but to give it the amount of realism it needs you just gotta bend its spine over a little. Well, kind of a lot, actually, seeing as it would just fall over backwards without hesitation as it is now.

well i've decided to drop the last model, i quite like his head but the rest of him not to much.

i just did this, in total it took about 10 minutes mabey, i was really focusing on the texture and trying to make it look a bit like jade.

its meant to be of the same style as those medievil japanese charms or netsuke (acctual name) hope you like it.

Asteric@ i acctually don't have msm but i would be happy to answer any questions you have, just post them here and i'll answer them, i am acctually planning a tutorial based on the model i am posting just now.

well as i just said to asteric if any of you have any questions then please ask them on here, in fact i also sort of wanted this thread to also help people that want questions asked on z brush so please ask away.

anyway, i started this just after i posted the last model and i'm happy to say i managed to get it all done, so here it is, its meant to be an evolved squid that crawls on the base of the sea.

anyway here it is

EDIT
sorry image was 1280*1024, just changing it

there we go, now here it is

well i always start with a z pshere and then once i've built my armature i use zsketch to build it up then its just sculpting out of the 'unifided skin' i'm acctually uploading a video onto youtube of my initial process right now, its rather good quality so it may take a while for me to give you a link, but it'll definately be up by tommorrow.

Hey would you be able to make a low-poly model of the last one? I would really like to see what it looks like. And I might be willing to buy it.

wow guys thanks for the interest.

Darmic@ at the moment i am unable to reduce the model to the stage that you'll want, at its lowest subdiv the last one is about 500,000 polies so until the decimation plug in catches up with 3.5 i'm going to be unable to give away these models until i'm able to get these models down to about, 2000 polies, so just wait, and thanks for showing such interest but i will give some of these away, some i may sell on turboaquid.

well i was a bit bored and wanted to do something in photoshop so i loaded up my first model and did an intial render of just him, then i brought that into photoshop and used a lot of effects, i think it came out quite well considering that all i origionally had was the monster so everything else was done in photoshop, just about to move onto the squidy guy, tell me what you think

here it is

yeh, really all the last one was was practice for this one, i was really just testing out fuses different renders one of the base model, one with shaders and one just showing the bump map, with a few more things. also i didn't know how to do transpose at the time.

this one is really what i was wanting to do, this is just finished and started it after the last post, the terrain and monster were made in zbrush but the rest was done in photoshop, hope you like it.

i would like to see you do something more along the lines of anatomy. by the looks of this you are mostly playing around with what ever looks cool. with no real starting point. id like to see how you tackle a human body or animal.

thanks for the comments guys,

Azunaki@
i will be doing some anatomical work however at this point i acctually haven't owned z brush for more than a week, these models have really been tests like "can i make what i have in my head?" so don't worry i will be planning on doing some accurate human and animal models soon, but not immidiately, but thanks for the advise.
