I started working on a new car a VW Corrado. Here is what I got so far. I will be posting more screenshots as I progress.

Basic shape of the car.

Todays updates.

Made some details to the front and back of the car, and also started working on the interior.
Workflow updated too.

looks nice! but, since you look skilled in making cars, how about making a nissan z350 or z370? =D your model looks realistic, but the car itself looks bad =p

Very nice work, been lurking till i see enough progress to comment on,

Great job on the front end and the general shape seems spot on,

My only crit so far are the tail lights, they need to be defined better.

Other than that great job, and ill be watching your progress,

-Con

I myself think it's a good looking car, I kind of like the cars from the 90's and I think the looks of newer cars have gone downhill since then with some exceptions like Audi and Volvo.
I've actually been thinking of making a 350Z, 300ZX or a 280Z but I can't really decide which one.

About those taillights what do you mean by defined better? Should I make some interiors for the lights?

Thanks for your comments and expect some more updates tomorrow

Make a 350, it's my favourite Nissan. You're very skilled at crafting realistic car models, good job! I'd like to see how you texture it

Made some wheels and more interior, I'm still missing the insides of the doors and front seats but soon they'll come too.

Some polycounts(tris):
Car body: 4100
Interior: 1970
Dashboard: 2040
Wheels: 1600x4

You should sell that on a 3D resource sight and earn some well deserved money

Yes that would be nice

Anyway here are some updates.
- Car now has side mirrors, took a while to notice they were missing
- Front seats.
- Interior door sides.

Soon I'll begin texturing it atleast the car body, I'll need to work some more on the Interior.

Hey, nice to see that you have taken smaller details into account, such as the door frames, and interior, hardly see that lol, nice one.

I've been working on the uv map for the exterior of the car body and this is what I've got so far.

Very nice looking model, and nicely made. I would be tempted to put a brake disk behind those wheels to hide the face that there is nothing holding the on to the car.

Sorry for not posting any updates lately but I've been busy with another project I'm working on which I'll soon be posting in the wip section.

I'm just checking if somebody would be intrested in getting this model + an uvw mapped base texture with wires and descriptions for free, on the conditions that if you make an texture for it you will post it here for anybody else to use (because I suck at making textures and I haven't got the time to teach me that stuff now)

I can post the model in .X or any other format with both the exterior and interior or just the exterior and with or without the rims. Please let me know what you want and I'll see what I can do.

I also have some other cars that I can release if there are some intrest.

Edit. I've made some minor changes to the base texture which you can see in my earlier post but if you have some suggestions to what I could improve please let me know + I'll be adding the brake discs to the model but I was wondering if I should make the car a separate model and make the wheels + brake discs as a separate model too, to allow for an easy swap of wheels for customization.

And another question does the .X file format support multiple textures eg. one texture for the exterior + one for the interior.

hey, i would love to give the texturing a shot, Ive been looking for a good model to improve my skills on

I'd make them separate because as you said, it would make it easier to customize in games.

and i believe that .x can have multiple textures, the ones i use in fpsc have multiple and work just fine.

if you want me to have a shot at texturing could you send it as either .3ds or .obj, thanks

nice car! How long have you spent on that? What modeling program are you using?
To answer your question, yes, you can have multiple textures in .x.
I use Ultimate Unwrap for mapping. Groups can be exported as individual limbs. These limbs can be assigned their own textures. In UU, you just group up all your interior parts and assign them to a map, same with all your exterior parts. And when you export, you export groups as meshes.

Awesome model! I model cars too and seen many models, this is a perfect example of a low-mid poly car with detail and good poly placement. It would be a crime not to get it into a game like GTA4 or GTASA.
