Here is my first attempt at making a base for a character, it took me a little while to do, I'm not sure how long and it comes in at around 752 triangles, C&C welcome and could someone lead me to a head modeling tutorial?

The Blender Render is attached

Well, as far as I can see, there are 5 seperate objects, it would be better if they were connected. But ey, its your first start and mine was... well unmentionable.....

Yeah I know I'm going to work on that but I'm still having difficulties with the head, if anybody can point me towards a tut that would be great. Henry the tut u linked to me did not cover head modeling

yea the tutorial Henry suggested is good, but i prefer this one on the modeling part.

[ModEdit] Link Removed [/ModEdit]

its 4 video tutorials that covers the ear head hand and torso. although it doesn't supply a head or body reference and the body one used in the tutorial is nude. he explains everything excellently and is my absolutely favorite hand tutorial I've ever seen.

While the whole nudity/art thing is a whole argument in itself, I have to try impose a limit on the amount we can get away with showing.

I don't think that link is appropriate here, as it does contain a photo of a naked man in the video.

While that may be acceptable when making art etc or posting art in other places, I can't really justify the need here (however good the tutorial may be).

You aren't in trouble, its just that as I said, the whole nudity/art thing on this forum is something I have to be a little stricter on.

Sometimes I wish there was an age restriction in these forums on sign up so we wouldn't have to deal with immaturity like that. Ah well, I guess 99% of TGC's customer base is under the age of 14 so it wouldn't make sense financially .

Well, Im off to my nude life drawing class.

lol yea. and its not like its the only video. but oh well. (i agree with ruccus i do wish there was a age restriction)

(i'll look for the other tutorials on that page on youtube and link them over) the torso one is the only one with any nudity in it.

the hand tutorial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1mExXURsWk
head tutorial(i found the reference image at one point but i lost it i bleive it was in a refernce image thread in http://www.game-artist.net/forums/)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xls25e08sSg&feature=related
ear tutorial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcYrUHRIqsE&feature=channel

i would link to the torso one but as it got removed last time i see no reason to go against the mod.

i actually found these threw an old link alucard posted(were did he go?)

People would just say there old enough Anyway, I don't think it really needs one. I don't think anyone of any age really needs to see things like that (I'm probably saying this because i would most likely have not have been able to sign up seeing as I'm "Under 14") XP

yes nude art is required for any art direction. how much they go into it all depends though. as rucus said he is in a class for nude life drawing (that dirty dog)

I have an idea. Lets just go back onto the original topic about his model.

If it hasn't exploded yet, I haven't touched it.

Are you joking? I just watched it, and for a beginner's tut it is very useful.
