is there anyway I can make a model into a rag doll? like for a shooter once you die the body falls?

plus what is this sparky engine I keep hearing about? may sound dumb but I'm new to the dark basic forums and don't know how to find it.

thanks.

If you are using Dark Physics its easy:

1) Go to a toy store and pick up a doll.
2) Get a marker.
3) Write "Dark Physics" on the back of the doll.
4) Throw the doll up in the air and watch it hit the floor.

Works like a charm

@ pdq: nice one.

But seriously: Don't try to use ragdolls with DarkPhysics!
Save your time and effort. It's one of the features they advertise with, but no one ever got it to work...

Now the plot thickens, the fps decreases, and the awesomeness goes through the roof.

Have a look at this thread.

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=160475&b=30

Rag dolls are hard to get working, and some people say that DP cant do them properly. However I say if it looks and acts like one then what's the difference?.

My program here - look for skelly and click download, source and model are included.

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=159600&b=36

Shows how you could do it. It was made for a week long competition so the code is very messy, but have a look and play about, If you spend some time you might just get the effect you want.

Basically, you have to make a model for every limb then join all the limbs back together with DP joints. Very time consuming and quite hard.

For anyone who has missed this take a look at this new ODE command from the latest DBP beta. The command is completely undocumented but I've been playing around with it today and it's quite effective.

ODE Create Ragdoll from bone model obj,xx (xx appears to be the amount of flexibility the ragdoll has.

I hope that's of interest.

Would that require a ODE dll or is it integrated in DB Pro?
Sounds like a great addition.
